FFS why can't they just test them? They're testing care home staff regularly aren't they?

It's like they just want to repeat the exact same mistakes again.

Is there any reason the nightingale hospitals could not be used like a halfway house for elderly covid patients who might not be quite well enough to go home, but not needing the full resources of a hospital bed. Then regular testing until a negative test shows you can go home

Our Trust received their allocation this week...well half of it for some reason. Managed to snag an appointment for  this morning - beauty of having rubbish lungs is that I was put in a higher category than the rest of my team. Bit chaotic at first but the actual vaccination part was quick and painless.  Now if I could get my shielding relatives vaccinated I’d be a lot happier.  Still going to be careful even when I’ve had the second dose for the sake of my partner and other people.

Documents seen by the Guardian also reveal that the NHS is asking care homes to start accepting Covid patients directly from hospitals and without a recent negative test, as long as they have been in isolation for 14 days and have shown no new symptoms.

Seriously is it like new year same mistakes with this Government???

I mean 1st the rubbish kids food boxes, now this again?? WTFare they thinking 😞

I’ve literally no idea, but my guess would be that Doctors need to continue to be Doctors, they can’t spend their entire time giving out vaccines as they need to do actual Doctoring. Plus their surgeries are small, so not easy to give vaccines efficiently compared to a very large venue when it won’t matter as much when people turn up etc.

If ‘Doctoring’ isn’t a real word it should be.

It’s desperation isn’t it, I think it’s a sign of how tight things are in the NHS that they are trying this. I hope they think again or this is just a rumour though and they don’t make the same mistakes twice.

Not a bad idea but yeah they'd still need staff to run and look after them. And I guess they're not all located that close to existing hospitals so might mean quite a bit of to and fro.

Given the amount of tests that are being done daily now, though, I really don't see why they can't save a few for this purpose.

Bit of a jump to 3.2 million vaccines in Uk .... not sure if that is 1st or 2nd Doses though on this

https://www.howmanyvaccinated.com/united kingdom

That would imply they've done like 400,000 in the space of 4 hours? Idk how much I buy that...

The numbers are still rising now and it's past midnight?

Sort of reminds me of when I used to download shit from napster.

The old limewire days when you used to try download a super low quality film and when you tried to watch it 2 days later it turned out to be something completely different

This government no - but its the future that makes it a worry. A socialist/communist revolution for example...

So in this scenario there is enough support in the country for this revolution to take place but they need to rely on a pre-existing ID system rather than creating one themselves and that is why we need to worry about vaccine passports?

If they become normal parts of every day life it isn't a hard sell to change it to something more intrusive. Luckily this country will probably never have such a scenario, but it's not guaranteed

Either way it doesn't matter - its happening. If it's not law I'll definitely be avoiding those places that require it (glastonbury included) but I think it will be law

Some old folks I know are working their way through the vaccination queue now so it is real!

They should really open it up to 24/7 and get this thing out the door as quick as possible. It wouldn't be compulsory to go at 3am but if you opt in for times like that to get it out the way it should be an option. I'd let a bouncer give it to me in the queue if it meant I could go into underworld in camden for the night
