2021 Headliners

If FWN was their first album and not their second album, they'd never have had a second album and would be working in Sports Direct with Miles Kane and some prick they went to school with. It is terrible.

Because it's going to happen:

Suck It and See >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Humbug > Tranquility > AM > Whatever >>>>>>>>>>>>. Alex shouting "ladies" for ten hours > FWN

Jez, Tranquility their third :O FWN is a good album, much better than AM that is overrated.

We saw in 2018 that Arctic Monkeys are big enough to make festivals wait and announce their live dates together (until Idles spoiled the Primavera lineup of course), so until they start being rumoured for other festivals I'm going to assume that offer was already in place for 2021 and is more likely to end up being rolled over to 2022.

Since we're doing album rankings...

1. Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino
2. Suck It and See
3. Humbug
4. AM
5. Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
6. Favourite Worst Nightmare

Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is my least favourite by far- listened to it again before writing to confirm my original thoughts were correct but probably never return to album. It was peak Alex up his own arse lyrically. Sonically i felt it was so jarring, the rhythm and melody was just uncomfortable to listen to. Prime example is on the first track "star Treatment", it will chime in with that change in pace @ minute 1.38.

While i think there is some utter tosh on AM i thought it was 1. Very relatable, 2. Such a smooth listen.

He said someone has come forward and let him know that an offer is on the table

I didn't quite say that.

Reading between the lines of what I was told it sounds at the mo more like a conversation about whether it could happen than "an offer is on the table".

Yeah. Agreed. Humbug probably my fave though.

1. Humbug (way, way in front)

2. Whatever People Say I Am...

3. Suck It and See

4. Favourite Worst Nightmare

5. TBHAC

6. AM

I'd go with this as well, minus the way, way out front.

People talk about tbhac being a grower but it took years for my love of SIAS to fully materialise, it's unfortunate for it that I'm so attached to the other 2. It's definitely Matt's best work, there's bits of it that just make me grin that you don't really get on their other albums.

It's starting :D this is my favourite part about the build up, when people start hearing little bits of things.. and its starting in August! Love it!

So if we had to guess (or maybe someone knows?) which night would we be thinking if it is Arctic Monkeys?

I would guess Friday just because of the last two times, and Saturday looking like it’s keeping Sir Paul.

Thank you :)

I'm guessing then if they do it and it is Friday that's my hope of The 1975 out the window, I think everyone guessing before had put them on the Friday. Not sure if I'd go to Arctic Monkeys.. suppose it depends who else is on - but that pretty much goes for everything doesn't it when you're deciding who to see

My guess would also be Friday and it’ll be one or the other of AM/1975.

Fri: AM/1975

Sat: Macca

Sun: All to play for still. Can’t see it being another male guitar act, and all of the other contenders - Swift, Gaga, Eilish, etc have various question marks next to them.

Genuinely don’t know who’s most likely for Sunday at the moment.

    • Likelihood is it'll be on Sunrise and Alcove but theres potential for some more in the tent as there have been 8 acts on some days in recent years. Obelisk is likely full now unless they have a few shorter sets thrown in   Im surprised they haven't had some secret sets thrown into the mix this time round unless they do and we find some gaps in the schedule is released
    • I see that Your Party has officially split, another Corbyn leadership disaster.
    • Saturday notes:   MARINA - absolute highlight, a proper diva, I'm so glad I skipped the headliners for her. Also, the crowd was beautiful, no yapping, no pushing, just enjoying the music together. Primavera crowd at its best.   Ninajirachi - One would say that at the end of the last day of the festival, they must have told each other everything, right? Not really. There was still SO MUCH MORE to say. Primavera crowd at its worst. It was completely packed and someone was constantly pushing themselves through the crowd. It was quite difficult to enjoy the set, even though I love her music.   Olivia Rodrigo - The teasing, the speculations, finally the confirmation and the first reactions of people! When I was showing the "tweet" to my partner, there was a young girl standing behind us who asked me very politely if she could see it and if it is really happening here tonight and after she finally processed it, she had the cutest "Holy. sh*t." reaction. Few minutes later, when refilling the water, I almost lost it when another girl beside me started screaming "Oh my god! Oh my god! No way! Oh my god!", staring into her phone. And then also Robert Smith came. I must admit I'm not familiar with Olivia's songs (but I'm planning to change it) and can't really say I loved the set itself, but I absolutely loved the whole Olivia Rodrigo experience.
