Anyone else feel Janet might be spreading herself a little thin?

I hate you.  I've just had to explain to someone at work exactly what was making me giggle so much.  To her credit I didn't just get the expected blank stare after I'd tried to explain it.

They've sussed out how to humour you then?

I'm finally genuinely excited for Janetonbury.

The whole office learned long ago to strike the balance between being po-faced and sending me off in a huff, and actually laughing and just encouraging me to keep going.

Could have been awkward if Elton was playing this year. From a 2016 Rolling Stone interview:

”For someone whose singles aren’t on the charts anymore, Elton still attracts the attention of a pop star in his prime. There have been scraps aplenty, beginning a decade ago by ripping on Madonna for lip-syncing in concert. “I say what I feel,” says Elton. “I probably went too far with Madonna, and I got very personal and I wrote her – she was very gracious.” Still, it’s an issue for a singer whose tenor has become growly but relies on no artificial enhancement. “You know, fucking music magazines writing a review of Janet Jackson saying, ‘This is the greatest show – four and a half stars.’ It’s fucking lip-synced! Hello! That’s not a show! I’d rather go and see a drag queen. Fuck off.”

Ah, Elton.. tell it like it is, mate. I'm actually pretty gutted he's not playing now!

You're welcome (I think?) ?

Wendy Williams has a fascinating face. It’s so immobile!

Looking forward to the festival move to London, and Kylie Jenner will be great I’m sure. (She’s the makeup bird, right? I’m old and very out of touch with this kind of thing)

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
