  1. We're probably about 10 weeks from go/no-go.....interesting times round the Worthy kitchen table. 85%
  2. What we need is a thread to cover this kind of stuff.....

'I Drink Wine' is a belter. Starting to love this 👍

I've gone through twice now. Second time it was like I was listening to a totally different album and tracks I barely noticed before have me going 'Oh...hello'.
  6. So nothing different from Macca then....it's the relative silence from others that makes me nervous. Would GFL pull the festival if there was doubt over headline acts appearing, or risk it and go with what they could get last minute? I don't know how contingency for such eventualities works.

I'm 8 tracks in and drifted off to the Headliners thread. Its nice but.... First listen though....
  8. Given the 'C' word this could be the same for Swift, Relton, Kenny and any number of other artists. I get the feeling everyone is holding back on committing at present. Global artists that is....domestically the situation is much more positive.

Holy sh*t this is off the scale 😯
  12. OK so I need to ask if anyone saw Linekers quiz thing 'Sitting On A Fortune' on Sunday night just gone? There was a woman who was asked where the Bermuda Triangle was. and she quite seriously went for 'Loch Ness' as her answer. Speechless isn't the word.
  13. Putting the Miles Teller thing aside for a moment is the song about anyone in particular?
  14. Yes you're right I remember this, and I think it was after this that I picked up a fella hitching outside the site and drove him to Glastonbury where he was then hoping to get a lift to Bristol. Considering that I need the cash far less than the folks that come specifically for it I'm probably going to let it go. The idea of a few days on site helping out post-fest sounded appealing, but I'm not doing it at the expense of someone who really needs the job.
  15. Got to be honest I'm a bit surprised we haven't got legions of clean up vets on here, but then I suppose staying on for another 5 days or such is mainly only something that local people would find easy to do. There used to be stories of hordes of scavengers descending on the site for easy pickings but I'm not sure whether this is still the case. A few days picking up rubbish I don't mind but I'm not really up for Mad Max:Beyond Worthy Farm.
  16. Thinking about maybe staying on for the clean up next year....anyone done it and have good/bad experience to share? How do you get on it, for how long etc?
  17. I'd agree. Even though some of these things wouldn't prevent a complete about face there does seem to be a degree of commitment activity we'd only usually see in a 'normal' year. I'm up....a slightly cagey 95%.
  18. Wassail at the Tithe Barn is great fun. Is there one confirmed for Jan yet do you know?
  19. Yup...I can vouch for what @deebeedoobeesays above as I went for a wander last Friday and the big signs are still up, asking people to stay off site (which obvs I did). The footpath top right of Dee's map runs down the right hand side of the playing field past the basketball court and then down onto Worthy Lane where you can walk just as far as the yellow barrier past the cow sheds. There's not much of a view from there but if you head back to the skatepark and stand on the gravel path just to the left there is a good view of the Pyramid from there. Other than that you're limited to walking the lanes and peering wistfully through hedges I'm afraid.
  20. Might just stay in the tent for Saturday night 😕
  21. Ha true. He said plenty....just not much that we were interested in.
  22. @Hugh Jass @Superscally @Hotchilidog You're all correct about the weather of course. I was really looking forward to something exceptional, but it didn't arrive for me so I'm speaking maybe too parochially on it. What really got me though was the almost total lack of engagement with the audience or any humility in such an environment. Bono didn't read the crowd or seem to understand that we weren't all staunch U2 believers so he didn't feel the need to try.....just turn up and play it like we've always done lads...they're gonna love us. Love him or hate him but I said toMrs P afterwards that Bono should have asked Chris Martin how to treat the Pyramid crowd. I'll have them back of course but I hope next time he gets the memo.
