2019 Headliners

Kinda feeling like I might try the resale now (providing if I can make the festival)

no mega headliners pulling in all their fan base to try for tickets I reckon the resale might be an easier shout.

i know a lot of people who are going to be very disappointed with Stormzy, The Cure and Paul Mccartney but that’s a good thing. This is what Glasto needs to survive I think...

Was just at the Introducing chat, without saying his name Emily couldn’t have made it clearer Stormzy is headlining Friday.

All male headliners next year, she’s tried to get females across the festival but said the pyramid is harder as at the moment there just aren’t enough headline acts - reckons that will change in 5 years though.

2020 headliners are being booked now, mentioned they looked into one night being a ‘collaboration’ as loads of artists have held off for 2019 in the hope to play 2020

Looking very likely that it is Stormzy, The Cure and Macca then. I think it's a solid trio and like others have said, it's good to have a year that's not full of megastars. Booking acts like Stormzy is exactly the sort of thing the festival should be doing every so often. I don't think it's any weaker than 2014, if anything it's probably stronger.

not sure why they wouldn't reveal that now ..

I'm guessing they are waiting for him to announce his new album. If they announced him now they'd get the same reaction that we saw on here with people going "but he's only got one album, he can't headline" etc.

I'm clinging to The Cure being wrong. Still doesn't feel quite right for me. Stormzy and Macca are looking nailed on.

Don't take it too literally...a couple of blokes doesn't have to mean all headliner based and tbf Stormzy and Macca are a couple of blokes generally speaking and The Cure are more a band.

That virtually confirms with the above Stormzy and Liam.

How does that confirm Liam in any way?

Doesn't really apply to The Cure though, so wonder if that's now in doubt?

Stormzy and Macca is "a couple of blokes", though.

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
