I don't think they are hyping it up, think they are genuinely worried about it...just from what my PHE mate said....and what Whitty and Valance were saying on saturday. Maybe in the end this new strain isn't as infectious or widespread as they feared, but probably best to be cautious. What they need to be doing is discussing all this with other european countries...but in the end if there was a new strain somewhere we'd be stopping all travel there...we did it with Denmark recently.

Agreed.

Can anybody explain why the french have shut the border in this direction?

Apart from trying to prove a point?!

Because we told them that Kent and the South East was infested with a new, significantly more virulent, strain of the virus.

I believe you can come in from Europe, but then you can't get back so nobody is coming.

Yes that’s my bad. I saw a report that said £1m of perishable food stuck on the french side of the border but didn’t think that it wouldn’t be just British drivers and companies bringing it over.

I've posted this a couple of times in recent weeks, but it's been released now and is, apparently, in the top 20.

Do your duty.

Got it playing in the kitchen on repeat. I feel it's my civic duty! 😄

    • Just watched Annie Lennox at Wilderness Festival as part of her global feminist The Circle initiative. She curated the 2 hour slot with special guests including Jessie Ware and then did  a 1/2 hour slot singing her and Eurythmics hits at the end. Her voice is amazing still and I am convinced she would do an amazing set on Sunday afternoon. She even wore a jacket with a sparkling CND symbol on the back! It’s a sign!!

    • Is it one of those bollocks things where ones is a festival and the other would be a show lol
    • Hello,   I have no idea what the answer is to your question, but wish you well in your quest for information.
    • Yes, I was asking about comedy, and also it seems odd that after bringing it back last year, the Seaside Stage seems to have gone again. Probably why Massaoke (basically a big karaoke sing-along) is now on the Castle Stage. But on all three days?! Does all seem a little desperate this year, though hopefully I will be proved wrong. Still think the Mary Wallopers fiasco has probably put a lot of artists off performing at Victorious, hence the reduction in stages and acts appearing... One of the best things about Victorious in the early days was its value for money compared to some of the other bigger festivals, but this certainly not the case anymore...
