I have, at Bestival. It wasn't too bad. To be honest cold is something you can prepare for. Get your clothes / equipment right and it's not a big deal. Rather that than rain anyway. fred quimby
Certainly would put a different slant on the festival. Could be interesting
stuartbert two hats
Obviously June would be better if it can go ahead. But if it has to be September to ensure it happens, then I'll be there.
timbrass
I had heard the same September rumour from a well connected local. Likely there will be an uptick in the old Rona over Winter (says GP wife) with consequent local lockdowns which will only be lifted in Spring. Avalon_Fields
I'd be just happy if it gives a better chance of happening. Without a vaccine, there's got to be plenty of doubt for any date, but the later the safer bet I guess.
DareToDibble
Do the Eavii take bribes? I’m getting married on 3rd September so will pay them good money to not have it that weekend. Please 😔
Andy0808 v5
As long as my camp Sticklinch cabin doesn’t turn into this I’m all for it anytime.

stuie
I personally reckon this increases the chance of there being a festival in 2021 massively. You just do what ya gotta do please Eavis’

Matt42
I think a September move would be smart. Yes it would be a bit colder (potentially) but there’s a much greater chance of the festival going ahead. It might also explain why Macca isn’t back. He can’t commit to a September date as it’s too far in the future?

zeppelin
Stick me in the "as long as it happens, I don't care when" camp! The idea that I won't be going to events til that sort of time is scary. But I like that they're working so hard to make it happen.
Leyrulion
So Weather in September on the face of it doesn't look too different from June. Temperature averages about the same. Let's actually look back to the Friday-Sunday in previous years First weekend in September 2019: Highs of 15, lows of 6. No rain 2018: Highs of 24, lows of 8. No rain. 2017:Highs of 20, lows of 10. Rain Sunday night Second week in September 2019: Highs of 22, lows of 10. Rain Friday. 2018: Highs of 17, lows of 6. No rain. 2017: Highs of 17, lows of 9. Rain Saturday Afternoon
faymondo
A birthday at Glastonbury would be good (18th) Like many not bothered when it is as long as we have one. Cold and mud would be tough but after whats gone on since March I am ready for it.
SighMo
I’ve got EOTR tickets carried over for Sept. Can’t see how it wouldn’t clash unless Glasto is pushed even closer to Autumn. Would be a big call for me; probably go with EOTR as I’ve also got Green Man in Aug.

priest17
Also I understand getting behind the fest and it being there a different time instead of not at all but let's be honest it'd be shit if it moved.

Start of September - first day back for staff is often September 1st, depending where weekends fall. 3 hours ago, incident said: At the end of August or the start of September depending on school area.. But surely those teachers are (supposed to be) working in June anyway so it's no different. They'll have to call in sick either way. For University teachers it could potentially help - exam boards are often held in late June, whereas term starts back mid-late September. In terms of secondary and FE, by the end of June exams are done, so often staff will have fewer classes to teach as year 11/13 have left, and as a result negotiating time off is easier. In September it will be nigh on impossible as leadership teams see it as crucial in settling in classes and establishing expectations. Of course, exams being moved in 2021 could cause the same problem if the festival happened in June anyway. Fuck being a teacher, Glastonbury's timing is a big downside. Wish the Eavii would do a deal to swap weekends with Boomtown... Edited August 29, 2020 by blutarsky Typo
zahidf
If football games with crowds and gigs are allowed by Jan/ Feb 2021, I don't see the need for a move If the 2022 festival tickets go onsale October 2021, isn't that... an issue? sedra
Sunrise would be around 6.30am and sunset around 7.30pm in September so staying up to greet the dawn might be a bit of a challenge but more lighting effects for the main stages could be good. To be fair the weather in September can be really good And there have been some really cold nights at Glastonbury. Would still prefer June though but whatever date is fine as long as there is a festival next year and it’s safe to go then that’s the thing.
