Yeah, but I do think The Cure has more overall known songs than Led Zep. I think my parents couldn't name a single Zep song (Well maybe 1), but would instantly recognize songs like A Forest, Just Like Heaven or Boys Don't Cry.

Does your mum know Stormzy though?

Give over with the media whore shit. Dude can go naked and not be told he's a slut. Try to remember that women do make up some percentage of contribution to this forum.

Men and women can be media whores.

It doesn't mean actual whores.

I am a woman.

I can't explain to people who won't listen so here's a link: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/media_whore

The Cure isn't really a jump and flail around kind of band. (Thank god!)

A Forest is always a huge, unbeatable live moment. Collective chills whenever that bass comes up. Personally I love the climax of From The End Of The Deep Green Sea or Disintegration. Immense. These epics are the exact opposite of dull.

Thanks! I enjoy importing setlists from setlist.fm to Spotify. Any particular Cure-list you can recommend?

It's still a loaded term to use in defence of the people weaponising a woman's sexual history as a means of attacking her husband.

Behold The Gold Lamé Thingy.

No offence, Gnomi, but I read this at 6.15am when I was still in bed, and that is far too early to be thinking about anyones Gold Lamé  Thingy  It did wake me up though tbf!

We desperately need an announcement or Simpsons posts cos these past few pages suck.

And whilst we're calling out the bullshit can the Kylie discussion move beyond phwoar/too old to phwoar.

Well that's not fair, she's had 24 years longer than me to get ready.

She'll probably edge it though judging from my dad (no offence Priest16)

Upvoted for the suggestion you're a 17th generation eFestser. The first forum was distributed on scroll by carrier pigeon.

Recon the lack of announcements is due to them scrambling to get a decent line up? Like from what we know it’s lack lustre and abit embarrassing to say there’s been 2 years and most of the big acts played 2017 on smaller stages ?

There's no "lack of announcements" the amount they've announced so far is consistent with most years recently.

Yet every year the impatience grows exponentially. With the current underwhelming prospect of The Killers as the last headliner I can now patiently wait for the non Pyramid line up to start appearing next month.

Whilst there does appear to be a dearth of interesting 'headliners' about this year, there are loads of decent acts around below that level. I have genuinely good feeling about the strength of the 'undercard' this year.

Yeah I'm pretty unhyped about the rumoured headliners this year (across most stages, although we've still got tons to come) but getting pretty excited about some of the possible undercard acts. Also hoping for some of those 'well I wasn't expecting that' acts to pop up on the lineup also - they're always fun.

The Killers are clearly headliner sized, will go down really well and probably deliver a solid headline set that sends most onlookers into the night really happy.

As far as headlining a popular music festival goes, they’re still a safe and solid choice.

The disappointment really is that for us on the forum they’re a boring choice and a bit naff. I won’t be watching but it’s an understandable mainstream choice in my opinion with what’s on offer and the Stormzy ‘risk’ they’ve taken with the mainstream rock lot.

Sensible summary!

A good starting place, I'd suggest, is there set from Hyde Park last year. If you want it to be instantly accessible / recognisable, listen in reverse order.

If it’s Stormzy, The Cure and the Killers it’ll be the weakest set of headliners for me personally.

I’ll be celebrating my tenth Glastonbury this year though so I can’t complain about taking a year off the pyramid really. I’ve had a fair few incredible nights at it before.

I was really hoping for gaga and the strokes on the pyramid. As long as the other stage pulls through with Tame Impala and The Chemical brothers, I’ll be very happy.

Coming from a selfish thought process the (rumoured) headline trio is good for me as I believe it will give me a great chance in the resale.

I do think the Killers & Cure will end up being well received when they actually perform, but I can’t see there being too many casuals chomping at the bit to get a ticket following their announcements in the same way as for Ed in 2017, Adele in 2016 and Macca would have attracted this year. (Or Gaga)

I’d be spending all three nights away from the Pyramid but would harbour no ill will against the organisers for what is comparitvely to other recent years, an underwelming set of headliners. Sometimes there’s just not much they can do.

A very sensible first post. Welcome!

Anyone think this years lineup maybe affected by the big birthday next year? Some bands might be lined up for next year seeing its a biggie.

None of the confirmed or rumoured headliners are who I'd go out of my way to see but i usually find more than enough to keep myself entertained anyway

    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
    • Been last time in 2018 when the festival was happening in parque Bela vista. ls the new location good for such a big festival? What's the temperature in the evening near Tejo? Should we bring a raincoat or a jacket?
