  1. Now Emily has denied, what a bizarre thing to come out with on a radio interview.. for clicks perhaps? 🤔
  2. Devastated, DOOM was the soundtrack to my undergrad years. One of my favourite DOOM videos, can't help himself having a chuckle at his own lyrics

  4. Totally split between thinking the BBC article is a huge setback, or just calming expectations to say it's not a done deal yet despite the vaccine, everything is crossed for the latter!
  5. I'm Apple Music so data is from last.fm..
  6. Recently finished Neon Genesis Evangelion (and End of Evangelion). Not usually much of an anime but thought it was incredible! Very much one for the 'existential crisis inducing' media 😂
  7. Recently finished 2001: A Space Odyssey, really impressed. Thought it supplemented the film incredibly well, excited to see where it goes in sequel books! Going to start This Is Going To Hurt next, heard very positive things!
  8. I'm gonna hold off on this until I hear the full Avalanches album, could well shake up the top for me!
  9. Totally agree, my argument has always been that it isn't about whether Glasto is totally safe, just that it can satisfy some arbitrary guidelines to make it look like the government are trying to make it safe. These are almost certainly two very different things! Was the quote from BoJo along the lines of saying that the plan is to go back to normal once the vulnerable are all vaccinated accurate?
  10. very jealous, spent too long decide between PS and Xbox so couldn't pre order, didn't get a sniff on release day! I was hoping my glasto ticket buying would come in handy 😂
  11. Have been tempted to try a run in a mask to see if I my time is impacted much!
  12. I watched it a long time ago but loved it, am due for a rewatch but will probably delay until after I've read the book Also been lent a few books, 1984 in particular, best to start catching up with the classics!
  13. Thanks for the rec, haven't gotten around to the film so perhaps I should go book first as is generally recommended!
  14. I wonder if people will be less shy this time around, in 2016 he was a more unknown figure, so people might have wanted to keep their cards tight to their chest. Over his presidency it seems his support has become more vocal and cult-like, they don't need to be shy anymore!
  15. It's a tough one, there were certainly people who in 2016 warned that despite polling it wouldn't take a huge swing away for a Trump win. It now appears to require even more of a swing, and without any real indication of where the swing will come from But of course there's everything to play for until it's over!
  16. Never been much of a reader but trying to get into it more. Thought a good place to start would be stuff I'm familiar with via film, so currently just over half way through Call Me By Your Name, 2001: A Space Odyssey and American Psycho up next
  17. Also fun story, I was in Florida in October 2016, standard theme park holiday. When my gf and I were in magic kingdom, a plane flew over us creating a message in smoke that read "SAVE GODS BABIES VOTE TRUMP"
  18. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/final-2020-presidential-election-forecast/ Interesting reading on the diff scenarios that would play out, as well as why this is different than 2016
  19. Over lockdown I've really started digging in to cinema more, including Paul Thomas Andersons entire filmography. I hadn't seen much of Hoffmans work before, so I've kind of gotten a delayed sadness that he's no longer with us. Yes to I'm Thinking of Ending Things as well, haven't watched many new films this year, but that and Saint Maud are the front runners off the top of my head!
  20. I recently watched Synecdoche, New York and it gave me an existential crisis haha, spectacular film
  21. I think I agree. I know people like to play up the fairness and the ethos of the festival, but it's still a business at the end of the day. Wouldn't make sense to cancel and have to go through another sale, in the current economical climate having a sold out event is gold, why would they just give that up?
