They do seem fun. They remind me of Gogol Bordello

My abiding memory of watching Gogol Bordello is the frontman swinging a bottle of wine around and just spraying it all over the stage and the front of the crowd. Lots of fun.

I remember the first time I saw Gogol, it was just before/after Gypsy Punks was released and they were slowly making a name but I had never heard of them before. It was at a fest where Peaches was playing after them so I'd figure I have a few drinks there and wait for her as I was feeling lazy to move around stages. It was one of the best decisions I ever made as they fucking below me away without knowing any of their songs. Eugene was running around with a bottle of wine, he seemed to be singing and talking in a single breath the entire time, I downed my pint so I could get into the amazing crowd which had so much energy for them and they ended the set with throwing their drum kit into the crowd so one of the girls in the band could jump on it whilst the drum kit crowd surfed.

Reports from the Fugees first reunion gig

https://www.stereogum.com/2161636/last-nights-fugees-reunion-started-three-hours-late-and-phones-werent-allowed/news/

Doors opened at 6, they got on at 10 (lol) and it lasted 45 mins

It was free so nobody lost anything but some of their soul. Performance is apparently going to be streamed so it will be nice to see no phones in the video.

    • Elastica posted last night teasing a return, wonder where they would play if they reformed?
    • I agree but anyone under Rodrigo would be a sub in reality, that day would sell out in under an hour whoever is subbing, in which case Wolf Alice would make a lot of sense   The more unrealistic part of the scenario at this point is Rodrigo headlining
    • All you can say is...     If he couldn't convince nations that really would've benefitted from the short-term hit of an up-front £50mil payment by this time next year, what hope did he have?   Guess we'll now just have to monitor and see if this could derail Infantino's plans to be re-elected FIFA President next year.
    • Spider-Man: Brand New Day   Highlight was a bloke reacting to the post-credit scene by going "Holy f**k it's Tobey Maguire!" despite the scene having no reference to him at all. Which made my close-to-full screening of the film laugh a lot.   Film was pretty good. It was interesting as much as an exploration of the ramifications of the end of No Way Home and being about isolationism and male loneliness, which I thought it actually did quite well. Though I do ponder if I liked it as much as the other 3 Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. Sadie Sink was good tbf, while I also liked Jon Bernthal as Punisher, enough that I might go watch his Disney+ shows.   Seem to have had a Marvel kick recently having also watched Thunderbolts and Shang-Chi, both of which I thought were pretty good.
    • Wolf Alice won't get headliner for Reading either, they will sub if they play, that is where their level has stopped I feel. Both TFG and Skyvip for the big shows this year was just a stretch too far. Every headliner this year is bigger than them too I'd say.   Agree with Capaldi I don't think Yungblud will be at Reading. I would guess Bludfest 3 or Download.
