The music has been great today, mostly listen to Radio 6. Seeing The Cure again tonight, a bit more sober, has topped off a fantastic day.

This reads like you got hammered earlier in the day then recently started to sober up ha. I’m guessing you mean more sober than at Glasto on the Sunday, but if you got drunk at lunchtime I salute you lol

Say what you will but I always thought this Metallica set was a lot of fun.

they are definitely the most ballsy choice glasto has ever had to headline. I’m surprised there was so many people in the crowd which knew the songs.

They really did. Robert Smith has absolutely no business sounding that good at 60. A genuinely astonishing performance.

I’m just in shock his voice sounds studio quality all the time. I don’t know any other performer who is like that other than Beyoncé.

Haha a bit more sober than when seeing them at the farm! Only had a couple today!

I adore the structure of this, cycling between night and day. Immerses you into the festival feeling a bit more :)

It was supposed to be a newer cut though, with more modern music clips: maybe that will get addressed in the Mark Kermode Q&A after.

Metallica were actually good from the sounds of things, why's everyone complaining?

I don't know many people complaining. I either see people say 1 of 3 things when talking about it.

1. Wasn't there, not my thing.
2. They were good
3. Surprisingly enjoyed them

You also get an odd youtube/twitter comment on 'finally a good band at that festival, I was wondering when that would happen'

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
