Some mention of hand cream for dry hands about the hand sanitiser - I hate the stuff and bring hand soap in a little bottle from MUJI (other random small bottle retailers are available)

Have had a few incidents of getting mobbed for a squirt at the sinks. Well worth it and your hands feel like magic after compared to that icky gel of last resort

I brought a couple bars of stolen hotel soap last time and they were brilliant! Nothing cleans your hands like soap and water.

Also, Mrs Hmmmloddy says if you are a woman then the official shewee areas are an absolute delight. The girls staffing it are super helpful, very caring and nice. Once you've mastered the technique it's also very free-ing apparently.

I would fundamentally disagree with this. Always follow a bloke with loo roll and a spring in his step over a girly with flowers in her hair.

S hooks - got from these boards a few years ago.  Revolutionary.

hand wash in a reusable travel container - can’t beat properly clean hands and face.

lock ups - a bit of a prep in a morning saves loads of time later in the day - evening clothes and more booze in the lock up saves a trip back

The duct tape “every year I take it and never use it “ post reminded me. Every year I took a spare car key, one year I forgot and guess what happened...........

Very much this.  Hand sanitiser doesn't actually clean your hands, just anti-bacs.  After a few washes you just build up a film of sanitiser without actually cleaning your hands.

In 2016 some angel left a full bottle of liquid soap at the taps in South Park on the Monday morning. Wonderful to remember what clean hands felt like!

Im gonna  try the hand wash one this year, hate the feeling of not having clean hands.

I use the lock ups like a cash machine, deposit all my cash on the Wednesday and then take my budget out each morning and put the rest back. So easy and it makes it far easier to budget plus youre not gonna lose or get all your cash nicked.

We camp near the one in oxylers so dont need to put stuff in there but if we camped further away I'd deffo stick a change of clothes in there and just go back there instead of the tent.

Freeze Capri Suns to use as ice packs. When they defrost you also have a drink so there's no wasted space in your ice box. 

Put money in envelopes for each day and write the day on each envelope then put them in the lock up's and take the relevant envelope out each day. 

Don't read this thread as you'll spend a fortune on loads of things you never had before  - Only kidding thanks to the tips I've bought some electrolytes and foldable backpacks.

To be frank, the one thing I usually can't be arsed to do (assuming it's in a popular location) is queue up in the perpetually squidgy mud to get some water from the tap to activate the soap, when all I want is some sanitiser to make sure they don't smell of piss  

I think you lot must be buying some weird sanitiser, this stuff mostly evaporates.

Re: soap.

Since I’ve found these I never take reusable bottles or bars. Paper-like, dissolving in your hands soap, think you get 20 sheets in little plastic box. Doesn’t take up any room your day bag.

If you take a cool box or anything frozen/cold, wrap the box/container in a silver foil blanket ( the type you get given at the end of a marathon) to keep it cold all weekend. You can get the blankets , that are in very small packets from amazon etc. Plus they are good for under your roll mat to keep warm or over the tent to keep cool

Re lockups, book in things in batches, and photograph your tickets and location. That way you can book out certain stuff without having to book it all out, get something, and book it all in again, and also remember which lockup you were at.

Assumptions here are that you're re-booking stuff in after the rush to get tents up and you've got more time, and that you'll be gillespied at some point when at a lockup, when a reminder of the location is handy (and proof, if you lose the tickets).

I  have to say I find those "life hacks" you get on the internet appalling - grown men holding up their trousers with bulldog clips and thinking they are some how winning at life!

Anyway, these all seem a lot more reasonable. I'd just call them 'tips'.

I continue to swear by taking a money-belt. Keeping my cash and cards in it rather than a wallet, just feels so much more secure than pockets. I'm more concerned about any mosh-pit action than actual pickpockets. And of course, back in the days when crowd-surfing was a thing, it was essential.

Another 'hack' (born of laziness): Put your outfit for each day in a carrier bag with underwear/ socks etc. and label.

They stay dry and when you want to die on a morning, you spend less time clambering around your bag and it requires 100x less effort/ brain power.

Heh - this is the last word in preparedness for being a massive jakey for 5 days.
