Nirvana - Would they have headlined?

I must admit, I've no idea how big those acts really were back then.  I know they were all sizable and in my schoolboy world, Nirvana were the biggest band out of all of those, but by how much?  I honestly don't know.  They seem massive now, but I guess that selection bias because they stuck around.

I expect they'd have come round eventually.  Lots of bands never played Glastonbury until they did.

Beasties only played afternoon on the Other.

Just reading there, 93. Pulled out late doors due to Fleas exhaustion and replaced by Lenny Kravitz. Glasto HQ not happy apparently.

mostly because Kravitz was the biggest diva the festival had dealt with up to that time (true story).

Oh yeah? Not surprising. I actually meant that they weren't happy with how late the Chilis pulled out. Not sure how close it was to the festival when they did.

That was such an awesome set. My favourite of the day. I had gone to see their gig in London a couple of days before (with Luscious Jackson supporting!). Great times!

Good luck with that mate, seems the baby is skint and trying his luck.

Funny how he’s been interviewed several times in the past and has even recreated the shot a few times and has never brought this up before…

Pathetic money grab. This line is just hilarious:

Elden's lawyer, Robert Y. Lewis, argues that the inclusion of the dollar bill (which was superimposed after the photograph was taken) makes the minor seem "like a sex worker".

Guy probably got pissed and realised his cash cow was running low when he didn’t get (m)any calls to recreate the photograph for its thirtieth anniversary next month so decided suing them was the next big thing. What a dickhead. I assume this will get laughed out of court and he’ll gain nothing other than not getting any calls for future press surrounding the album.

I think the killer piece of evidence is the old GQ interview in which, when asked why his opinion on the photo changed, his reply was basically that they didn’t return his calls.

He was a random baby.  Of course they don't give a shit about his poxy art thing.

I don’t really see the problem in the guy trying to get his end.

Yeah the framing is a little distasteful, but if they really weren’t compensated, and it’s one of the most famous album covers of all time, I think he’s entitled to try and seek out fair compensation.

It's the fact that he's suddenly coming out with this child exploitation/pornography/sex worker bullshit now after years of living a life celebrating the fact that he was the Nirvana baby. Had this always been his stance then I could understand a little more, but he's been reaping the benefits for years and now the money seems to have dried up he's taking another tact.

Shameless cash in attempt.

This is reason enough for me to not want to be famous. Imagine having to politely bat away every moron who you had a loose connection to 30 years ago when they try and use your name to push their own nonsense. Exhausting.
