Personally I think it's between Gaga or The Strokes.

Gaga would be a great booking, as discussed ad nauseam on here. The one little thing which makes me think it's not her, is Emily's 'we've got a couple of blokes' line.

I've always read that as her wanting the female representation, which hasn't come this time around. Unless it's a double-bluff, but that would be typical e-fests over thinking...

All the more reason to do separate early announcements for 2 big female solo acts. Add to that say Lana and Christine on the Pyramid and there's no issue with female representation in big slots.

I'll say it again: the spice girls claimed a month ago that they were 'in talks'.

The media seemed to run with the 'in talks' thing but I reckon that's a misquote. Mel B said 'it's been talked about' which tbf it has. Any Tom, Dick and Harry could (and did) suggest they may do it. It being talked about doesn't quite translate to in talks does it? But as I said, everywhere seemed to jump on it.

The Spice Girls advert for dancers confirms the contract commitment until 16th June 2019 (i.e. the final Wembley date) so it doesn't look like they'll be active beyond that.

I'll just point out that that would have been the original plan before they were 'in talks' for Glasto.

:P

Glastonbury since 2008 has always had a worldwide massive name.... 2014 had Metallica, who are huge.

Aye, well, they can only book who’s willing and available. And they’ve had a real run of good luck. A banter year to fuck off all the box-tickers will do some good.

Last gig they played was Chile in 2017. They played 19 songs, including all 11 from Is This It. You don't have to do too much digging into their setlists to see they are all skewed towards one album.

Funny thing is I like The Strokes...

Sounds pretty damn good to me haha!

    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
    • Proper loser behaviour wearing a tee like that. Me and my mate play a game every year called ‘Boomer Tees’ and there’s some gems every time.
