  1. Fair! Just assumed they had sold out because they added more and more dates to the original run.
  2. Whilst I agree they are crazy prices - they aren't really much different to similarly themed The Killers tour; which has sold out across the board. I'd expect at least one additional date at Brixton.
  3. Would be interested to know where you've seen this too. Wasn't Malahide only about €70? I'd set my limit at £85 for this show - £112 is way too much.
  4. Haha, yeah. For concerts it feels like a total waste of potential. So many small arena/large theatre/apollo size bands could play it, but promotors seem to avoiding it. I've been to three shows there; one comedian, the snooker shootout and the other was Zimmer vs. Williams. All very good and versitile in terms of the space, but shows that music seems to be low on the agenda. Most of the upcoming gigs for the the next year are simply embarrassing! I still think it should have been built outside of the City Centre - possibly by Felindre and made to be around 10k so large artists could play it & The CIA.
  5. Agree. I feel like the new Swansea Arena would be the perfect size for a tour like this? And would be far enough from Wolves/London.
  6. Most "big names" play for a lot longer than an hour. Even if I enjoyed it i'd feel ripped off. My favourite band is The Cure who almost always play 2h 30+. I'd be appalled if they charged £75 just to play a new album with 50 minutes of material. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
  7. Each to their own but think it's a terribly middle of the road lineup for bigger acts. Last years was much better.
  8. Of course the large bands can throw their weight around - it has to start from the top otherwise it can't work. That's why it's disappointing to see the likes of Pearl Jam, The Killers, Smashing Pumpkins, AC/DC etc allow themselves to be taken in by sh*tty practices. Agreed, but bands can still opt out of dynamic pricing or to negotiate lower fees/ face-value prices. I guess it's difficult when a lot of these more premium prices end up selling out though.
  9. It was more than the fact The Cure were vigilent about it. They had gone out from the start to ensure tickets were (more) affordable. It only kicked off because TM were fleecing the cheap tickets with ridiculous fees. They had already set ticket prices extremely low for a band of their stature. Tickets were as cheap as $20 for many of their Arena shows, with the most costly being around $120 - disabled dynamic pricing & barely any price banding. Even their UK Arena tour in 2022 averaged out about £50 a ticket; which was a lot cheaper than Depeche Mode's current arena tour.
  10. As scummy as Ticketmaster are artists DO have a choice to use different platforms or disable dynamic pricing if they stick with TM. Most of them seem perfectly happy to fall into line. God bless Robert Smith's efforts last year; The Cure effectively proved that much of this is in artists hands, but it seems you can't stop greed by some artists. I've drawn my line at £100 - I don't care who the act is or how special the show is. It's not worth it when I could see two medium size bands or grab a day ticket at a festival for less and have an equally good experience.

    Upcoming Gigs.

Got quite a few between now and August: Bombay Bicycle Club Feeder Echo & The Bunnymen Simple Minds/Del Amitri Keane The Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican Placebo Poole Harbour Festival. Might book another festival like Wychwood, or day tickets at Victorious.
  12. The point is that the bookers still booked them; no-one important batted an eyelid & if they did then they were likely ignored. The points made by anyone on here is irrelevant when a band is already booked to play.
  13. Them playing Glastonbury or not is kinda besides the point; even if this the Glastonbury chat forum. I don't think anyone has even suggested they would headline. Back to the point, with bookers in Europe & Ireland obviously having enough confidence in AF to book them for large shows I suspect we'll see them at APE, maybe Crystal Palace Park or Finsbury.
  14. That's irrelevant; they were still booked to headline the bloody festival. 😅 Has the festival had questions about it's reputation due to that booking, as people suggested it would if Arcade Fire were to be booked now?
  15. Considering you've quoted me here... That was my point; not that sexual misconduct is ok but rather we should be judging all artists the same for their unacceptable behavoir. I agree with your point but you've taken my post completely out of context. The discussion revolved around the notion of how much Arcade Fire's status had been affected and if people/bookers really cared; not whether Win's actions were acceptable. Everyone, including me thinks Win has been gross but that doesn't mean the band won't be booked, or if their status has been affected because of it. There seems to be a double standard here that some acts are allowed to get away with and still get booked, whilst others get cancelled. Like I said, no-one batted an eyelid when GnR headlined last year; and two of their members were charged with statutory rape.
  16. Definitely fake. There is no chance a stadium size band like Depeche Mode are headling Other Stage or subbing.
  17. "Sex Offender" - As far as i'm aware none of this Win Butler stuff has gone to court, or even involved the police. On the other hand, two members of last year's headlining band were literally charged with statutory rape in the 1980s and hid from the police for several weeks until charges were dropped due to 'lack of evidence'.
  18. Agreed, and thats kinda my point. It's rather difficult to pin any lowering of status on Win, or the band's reaction to the allegations when they were already falling down the pecking order.
  19. I doubt AF would play Glastonbury anyway; they've never had the best relationship with the festival & if they were to play UK festivals it would be to headline medium size ones. That would have been the case even before the Win allegations came out. Nonetheless, GnR headlined last year; a band that has far worse allegations and with much more anecdotal evidence and no-one batted an eyelid.
  20. They were playing tarped off arenas in the U.S with low ticket sales back in 2018 too as their star had already started to wane. They actually added selected shows to their 2022 U.S Tour. I take your point that they may have done more in 2023, but thats what I mean about them not handling the situation particularly well. They just shut up and hoped things would go quiet. Has that worked? Possibly. But I do find the double standards a little weird.
  21. I think you are over-emphasizing how much people care about the situation. Whilst, Win's actions are certainly questionable they are really no different to some of our beloved acts such as David Bowie, Led Zepplin; and dozens of other acts that have controversial moments whether involving sexual misconduct or not. So far there is little to no evidence to suggest that the allegations against Win have affected the status of the band in the grand scheme of things. Sure, some people may question if they still like the band, but as far as I can tell they are roughly the same stature now as they were in 2019. They had already dropped to a medium size arena band before the allegations came to light and they had peaked in 2014. I don't think the band have handled the situation that well, but they have always dissappeared between albums. Yet, here we are nearly 2 years after the allegations and they are being booked for 20k shows in Ireland, likely one or two shows in the UK & headlining medium size festivals in Europe & the U.S. and still huge in South America. All of which they were doing before any allegations came to light.
  22. Agree in principle; although I think most promoters will still snap them up if they play 1 or 2 UK shows under the banner of Funeral anniversary. The shows are probably already booked, just waiting to be announced.
  23. I'm thinking BST, maybe APE for a UK show?
  24. Pre-Sale is probably only open to those signed up to newsletter etc. General sale tickets will go on sale later. Common Marketing ploy.
  25. One of the worst lineups I've seen for a while!
