I’ve been having a look on the BBC iPlayer Radio app (not the shite BBC sounds app?) for clues about the TBA slots on BBC Introducing.

I know the slots are usually used for live performances on Radio 1 but there is no mention of Glastonbury in the Radio 1 schedules. All of the slots do tie in with a live radio show from the festival on Radio 2 or 6Music though.

FRIDAY:

BBC Introducing  13:30-13:50

Shaun Keevney live from Glastonbury on 6Music from 13:00

***

BBC Introducing  16:40-17:05

Steve Lamacq on 6Music from 16:00

“Live from Worthy Farm. Steve will be catching up with Idles, Fontaines DC & more”.

***

SATURDAY:

BBC Introducing  13:20-13:45

Lauren Laverne on air from 13:00 on 6Music.

“Lauren Laverne comes live from this years festival. She’ll be joined by Kate Tempest, Slowthai, Johnny Marr & Sharon Van Etten”

***

SUNDAY

BBC Introducing  18:10-18:35

Jo Wiley on air from 16:00-19:00 on RADIO 2

“Plus Jo introduces a special performance from the BBC Introducing stage”.

Is there any news of another Dub Pistols set?

Barry put on Facebook that he wanted to enjoy the festival and hang out with friends this year so is only doing a dj set at strummerville and the glade set

Just tried to set up Zapier for @SecretGlastoand I'm getting nowhere. Won't let me sign in/register. Just getting a blank page.Really regretting leaving that 'till literally the last minute now (possibly something to do with my ancient set up).

How am I going to know when Metallica are at JP now?

Charlatans don’t seem to be active whereas he’s  doing a couple of fests solo, so expect it’s a solo gig or a DJ slot.

I think he'll join The Chems on stage for Life is Sweet

aren't they supporting Noel Gallagher at some big gig on the Sunday Glasto weekend?

He does a lot of DJ'ing so possibly just that or he could do a Crow's Nest gig solo?

as a fairly regular visitor to Strummerville you will probable need to get there quite early. at a guess any more than 300 people would start to cause problems although you may 'fit' more on the slope above the camp fire. If the weather is in any way iffy then its quite a slog up the hill from the main site. Although I'm happy to see Frank Turner I'm a little gutted they let it out of the bag ads I'm really looking forward to seeing Snapped Ankle at 9.15 and might struggle to get there if there are hoards of people leaving Frank!

Do you think we could get to Snapped Ankles for 9:15 or will there just be too many people for Frank so Snapped becomes an impossibility?

Was really up for the Thursday night set.

Early Park set? That would be wonderful

Perhaps they're filling in for an act that has had to cancel? Surely we/they would have heard about it before now if they were the early Park slot. I'm probably wrong of course :)

    • Would you decide to go once more I recommend to queu up at the ‘official’ freenow taxi line ( 5 min walk from the main gate). It might take 15 min or so but they are not ripping you off. Even at 3 or 4 in the night it costed us about 25eur to the city center.
    • How do you mean? Better as a hotel/ festival combo?   I've done rock am ring at both sites.....unpopular opinion I much preferred the mending site and really didn't like the long and narrow main stage at RaR.
    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
