maybe I'm still annoyed that people on here insisted that Orbital were playing last year, even after the lineup poster came out :)

They'll be there this year, hopefully on Sunday night. Otherwise I'm gonna lose it!

Must be Kendrick then, only person it could be 😂

Look, this wasn't supposed to start an argument, just my opinion. I'm not even saying it isn't him, it very well could be.

But, we don't know it's him and even if it was him we don't know it's still him so my personal feeling is that people shouldn't be assuming it's him.

Or maybe I'm still annoyed that people on here insisted that Orbital were playing last year, even after the lineup poster came out :)

It's him mate and I wouldn't think too much more about it.

Just look at his tour schedule if you're still unconvinced for some reason.

I am largely convinced - but to be fair his tour schedule is the one thing that puts a small doubt in my mind.

It's funny how Kendrick Lamar isn't really mentioned outside of this forum, not by the bookies, papers, other forums etc. They're all talking about Guns 'n' Roses, 1975, Arctics and a few others.

Now, I know Neil has a fantastic track record and the bookies...err... don't.  Fully aware of all that.

BUT, I'm just not really feeling this one, at no point has it seemed to me that people are right about KL for some reason, and not just because I'm not a fan.

The BBC article when Taylor was announced said Kendrick was expected to be the final headliner

Friday's headliner is still to be revealed but festival organiser Emily Eavis recently said it would be a male artist, playing the festival "for their first time".

Many Glastonbury-watchers expect the slot to be taken by US rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Edit: just read the following comments and this isn't really relevant, ignore 😂

He was great with Hot Chip on t’other stage in 2008

I seen him after Liam Gallagher on Other. Bloke was just talking shite over some guy pressing play on a cd deck. At least play an instrumental and rap over that.

I am a bit apprehensive in regards to criticising artists as 99% of them are better than me. Yet I am a better dj and can scratch better thsn anyrhing than Wiley could serve up. Reckon I could produce better using Ableton and Behringer synths.

He was the biggest pile of shite I have ever had the misfortune of listening to. I would rather listen to a Scouser do the frog chorus with a sore throrat.

While everyone is questioning Kendrick - found this on the Sziget thread

2/17 is the US date for 17th of February - would explain why Sziget is holding back so long too..? Was there ever anything to rule out Eminem??

Hes a racist, homophobic bigot, I hope that would rule him out.

Kendrick was the odds-on favourite on Paddy Power, before they closed the market.

like 1/4 or something ridiculous like that.

Why him in particular though? Somebpody must have something more concrete than "Male and hasn't played Glasto before" to make him favourite? Bookies don't just work on complete guesswork.

- Emily Eavis is a fan and has posted about him before

- he's touring European festivals this summer

- he's playing  at Hyde Park , but they haven't said it's an exclusive show

- he's one of the most acclaimed artists of this generation so you'd think Glastonbury would love to have him play

Who else do you think it could be?

Sorry everyone! Am I way behind? You may have discussed this a long time ago, but Kendrick Lamar is headlining lollapalooza on June 26th, could he still headline, seems unlikely though! And they may be different time zones (lollapalooza and Glastonbury that is) but he’s playing another festival the next day, it says on Spotify on his tour dates, but I might have missed something I dunno!

Hmmm, really? He's a well respected rapper, but not as big as Eminem, Drake etc. I mean somebody mentioned Post Malone earlier, even he sold more albums than Kendrick last year, and that's assuming it's a rapper. Could be Elton, Bruno Mars, John Legend, could be Justin bloody Beiber for all we know.

The fact that Emily has posted about being a fan could be a clue, but a clue is just a clue.

Honestly, there are lots of big male acts that haven't played Glastonbury. The guy announces a few festivals shows and suddenly everybody thinks they're fucking Poirot.

Spotify just dumps everyone on the same day. I suppose he is playing Sunday
