Oh no

Another one - Tom Verlaine, Television

Marquee Moon one of my absolute favourite albums

Too many gone! I saw Television back in the day. There was such a buzz about them after that amazing review of Marquee Moon (The NME I think). I’ll give it a play tomorrow.

His 2015 set on the Pyramid was everything Glastonbury should be. God bless.

Sad news. I have always felt a little guilty about missing that but he clashed with Kae Tempest and they always give it everything at Glastonbury because it means so much to them.

Was at that 2015 set but can't remember a thing about it due to an absolute monster of a hangover I was nursing from the night before.

Burt was frail and they tried to prop up the sound by having some shithead comptition winner sing most of the tunes.

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
    • All I'm asking for is Rancid
    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
