Agreed. To be fair, although the atmosphere was a bit flat, it's probably the only set that I've seen at Glastonbury where I sang every word to every song (don't judge me 😉.) I was half-cut and had a great afternoon!! 😄

I'm not judging you. Me & most of the people around me sang along to every word. I had a great time, despite the shit weather & the lack of stage banter. My favourite ever legend slot of the 12 Glasto's I've been to - by a country mile actually!

I'm gonna say it. I wouldn't mind a fully up-for-it, no-sulking-Keadis, reduced-number-of-noodly-jam-session-between-tracks, nothing-but-hits, Chili Peppers headline set. There.

I'd say that them meeting the above criteria is as likely as them actually headlining but those are my terms.

SNC down the front Friday morning...

I've been off the thread for a while. The general feeling still Reg/AM/GnR?

Not sure there is a general feeling at the moment.

AM seem near enough certain.

Elton seems next most likely, but still far from being a certainty.

Beyond that it's guesswork - GnR / Eminem / Rhianna / Dua Lipa are all getting mentioned and probably others I've forgotten right now, but without strong reasons to think any one of them are more likely than the others.

Glastonburty costs me relatively little. No ticket cost (crew), maybe about £100 in fuel (but thats to get a live in van on site, no cost), mostly free food and I don't drink.

I've posted on this forum several times trying (mostly in vain ) that Glastonbury is more to me than the music, for me and my mates who also attend it's an annual meet up, some of them I only ever see there. Most of us have been going since the 80's and are important gogs in the Greenfields and SE corner.

I could go on but frankly it's pointless, suffice to say it's a very different experience. I wouldn't even consider going as a punter, whereas I would for Shambala.

That will always be the way it goes though. The festival will be designed for the punters, not the crew. And the strange way glasto has evolved, and the huge crew, mean most of those that have been going since the 80s and still want to go *are* crew at this point.

Not really, I see it for what it is. But you’re projecting a very high level of certainty from a rumour board.

Yeah I agree. It's fine to say "AM are the strongest rumour" or "we can't get any more certain of AM short of an official announcement" but that doesn't mean they are 100% certain.

Which shouldn't be a problem, except that we are now seeing other acts being dismissed as "they could only do the Friday and that's AM so no chance". That's where you're using one rumour to create another one.

Anyone that says Golden isn't a banger is a liar.

I was mostly jesting, I actually don’t mind him tbh.

My son loves Watermelon Sugar so I’ve probably heard that about 100 times this year.

The AM insider on their own forum who's been increadibly accurate over everything they do have said they're signed and sealed for friday. I feel like it really is as close as we can get to certain short of an official announcement

No better act suited for what that slot has become. I don't think I'd be there but there's 100,000 others who would

I know, I think It would be soooo much fun! I think the field would be packed and a Spice Girls themed night in the NYC Downlow would just be superb!

Yes to the legends slot. Big no to the NYC Downlow idea! The Spice Girls don't really fit with the 80’s New York gender bending warehouse party vibe really!

I've never been in NYC Downlow, I don't do queues att Glastonbury, but Ithought that'd be the case.

Yeh fair enough, I suppose I thought that because they usually do a legend's slot theme night don't they? Would be a good fancy dress theme

    • It can take around 30-45 mins to walk from the arena back to the transport hub with the crowds, depending on density. Allow even longer in poor conditions. I don't think you'd need to leave Linkin Park early though, you have at least an hour and 20 minutes to walk to transportation. I certainly wouldn't leave early in your shoes, knowing I can just walk to the airport if needs be (2 mile walk and another 30 - 45 min walk depending on your walking speed and conditions.) Maybe just don't linger too long for the toilet / food after Linkin Park have finished.  It will definitely make sense and all just fall into place on the night, don't worry too much and have a great time. The very worst that can happen is a little extra walking to the Airport Skylink bus stop, as those Skylink busses are 100% 24 hour. 🙂  GFS, ICON and ECMWF are ALL in agreement on the latest runs.... After a mildly moist Weds and Thurs, high Pressure building from Friday... Lets just hope they continue to agree... ☀️☀️☀️
