I thought a general rule is announcing a UK tour before something like Glasto so as to sell tickets. Although Paul sells out anywhere in minutes though.

Whats it gonna matter if the festival is sold out already. It has the same effect if he is announced for Glastonbury that a tour could revolve around that date instead of showing the telltale signs he is gonna be there for the festival with gaps in a schedule.

Funny thing, on the official Macca website, all the pages announcing the 2020 shows are still accessible but marked as "Cancelled".
https://www.paulmccartney.com/live/tw-classic-festival-werchter-belgium
https://www.paulmccartney.com/live/groupama-stadium-lyon
...

When requesting the Glastonbury 2020 page, the website returns a "403 - Forbidden" error and redirects to a holding page...

If Macca was doing UK dates I would have thought these go on sale before announced for Glastonbury , so maybe on sale Friday ?

Normally maybe. But Macca has no problem selling tickets so doesnt matter when its announced.

Exactly this. He will sell any venue out in minutes and Glastonbury is already sold out anyway. There maybe very few who won't go to hos your as they already have Glasto tickets anyway but who would go to a gig that is so close in time to Glastonbury if they are already seeing him (and it seems public knowledge he is playing now)

Because people who have Glastonbury tickets might buy tickets for one of his solo shows if they don’t know he’s playing Glasto.

Sorry, I haven't been able to keep up to date lately. Is McCartney and Kendrick pretty much confirmed then? Just waiting for official announcement?

Yup pretty much. 2 separate sources in the lead up to this month. Kendrick announcing a European festival. Macca touring in the US and being free for mid-late June.  Then the news round up today of a lot of people saying its McCartney.

They're also being both carried over from 2020 made them more likely at the start.

Near enough I think. Still adding a slight note of caution on Macca until he’s fully announced after the one person posted said he wasn’t playing, although we’ve since had someone else say he IS still headlining and these tour dates seem to all but confirm it. It’s easily 90%+ though

Ah man I forgot about the few days when we all thought Macca was out for Harry, followed by the scum saying he might be playing. I wonder where that even came from.

    • Feels like Leeds getting axed is just a matter of time now, and to be honest, it might be the only way to save Reading. The whole twin-site format just feels proper dated and way too expensive to run nowadays. If they scrapped Leeds and focused entirely on Reading, turning it into a proper London-adjacent day-trip fest for the younger crowd like All Points East or Wireless, it would actually make sense financially. But yeah, for the old-school rock crowd, the R&L era is completely dead and buried.
    • Its the obvious  place to find savings but will Ed Miliband play along? Will Labour MP's finally accept benefits cuts? This is as damaging for Reeves as for Starmer. Its hard to see how either survives. Meanwhile Burnham is bringing up WASPI when there is no chance they'll get anything. He'll have to say something about funding defence.
    • Yeah, I managed 2 at once last year but the setup meant 1 per purchase, my partner had to do her one separately using her code   14th Primavera, bring it on!
    • I’m heading to this but need to leave on the Sat. Does anyone have any experience of getting back to the train station without the shuttle bus running? Seems like it might be tricky
    • and cut net zero of course
