His biggest UK tour ever though. Bigger tour than The 1975’s I think.

Lemme know when Nick Cave plays Finsbury Park and headlines a festival as big as R&L

the kasabian thing seems... weird. They've disabled comments under the tweet announcing Tom is leaving, and he was doing interviews about the new album 2 weeks ago.

Wonder if something dodgy is about to break?

Yeah I get the impression this may be something other than a drug or alcohol problem, or if it is one/both of those then it’s lead to something else worrying. Not even ‘taking a break from the band’ that leaves room for his return but a full on ‘we’ve all decided it’s best if he’s no longer part of the band’.

I think not disbanding the band is essentially leaving room for return. They’re not gonna continue without him are they? Serge can sing a bit obviously but it’s a bit like Noel fronting Oasis permanently.

He sold out Victoria Park which is the same capacity as Finsbury Park. He isn’t allowed to play young people festivals because of his bad hair so that’s never going to be a level thing.

I know The 1975 have a better chance of headlining of course. I just think labelling Cave as an unknown is pretty out of touch.

I don’t think either will ever headline Glastonbury if I’m honest.

I can’t fathom a year where they would genuinely ask him to headline either. He’s probably at the bottom of the pile when it comes to potential headliners.

I actually think they’d ask Kings of Leon to headline before Nick Cave. Or get Muse again..

This forum’s circlejerk around Nick Cave is astonishing. I can’t believe people are talking about him headlining over The 1975, possibly the biggest British band of this generation.

I don't think anyone has actually said they think Nick Cave is more likely to headline than The 1975.

I actually think Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds shift more concert tickets than The 1975.

I had a feeling it was going to be something like this. It’s why I held off giving him much praise.

Me too - hard to believe he’d be booted out (sorry, ‘stepped down by mutual consent’) in such a manner if sorting out an addiction issue only.

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
