'Female, not British' artist for Sunday legend slot

Is this the earliest news such as this has been "confirmed" by a "reliable" source (I physically shuddered a bit writing that about The Sun) in a way that suggests its definite?

I'm in Zambia at the moment for a Uni conference and a bit of a tagged-on jolly. My friend has clocked how many times I check e-festivals in our down time. At breakfast this morning he was like "get off the forum!" - "but it's T-Day announcement day and someone just may sort of announced Kylie as the legend act!" I think I just lost about 100 cool points. Or maybe gained them. Hard to say.

Going on eFests in front of uni mates is risky business. Last year I was on it one evening in my room and my flatmate came in without knocking - closed that shit quicker than if I was watching porn, which is probably what it looked like I'd been doing tbh.

So basically you were caught Glastobating?

Does he still make eye contact with you?

Chris Evans gave Kylie a quick mention this morning on Radio 2 that should would be doing the legends slot, although he was only quoting the current bun.

As she is still making new music don't really see her as a legend, but then again what does make certain acts legends?  The last few years those that have done the legend spot just seemed to have fit the bill, songs, age etc.

Most of the people who play that slot are still making new music. Kylie just so happens to be making new music that people care about/bothers the charts. Can’t say I was much of a fan of her newest country-tinged stuff but if she picks her setlist well it’ll be wall to wall bangers.

Aaahaha..amazing!

My approach has just been full disclosure. I tell everyone about it, while fully acknowledging how crazy it might appear. It means I can go "someone on efestivals says" x,y,z about some glastonbury rumour and then suddenly everyone forgets how crazy they think it is and just wants the gossip :D

Also, if they're coming to Glasto with me they need to know in advance that I'm probably going to try and drag them to the efests meet up (unless I get so drunk I forget) and be randomly shouting out "efestivals!" whenever I see someone in one of the outfits I've seen on the fancy-dress thread

My old school friends who I go to Glasto with know I'm on here; I relay all the info to them and one or two of them check the rumours page themselves. Everyone else, I say nothing.

I’m sure the music will fit the slot - lots of singalongs, maybe Jason Donovan, all served with a large portion of vintage fromage to a no-doubt enormous audience, but to me Kylie is stil young enough to have more hits. The legends spot tends to be for those from the musical equivalent of the senior competitions in tennis or golf.

It's difficult, because if for example she never released another record but turned up in 15 years time with exactly the same setlist, it'd be hailed as a fantastic booking for the slot - and odds are she'll put on a much better show now than she'll be capable of doing in 15 years. But I know what you mean about the expectations of the slot.
