hodgey123
I read on another forum that QOTSA actively volunteered to headline against Elton when a lot of other acts were shirking it

Sawman
They totally nailed it - defo one of the sets of the weekend - near the front and still buzzing
Fingerbobs
That was something else. Left Elts after 30 mins to watch this lot blow everyone's heads off. Brilliant end to the festival.
FuzzyDunlop
I was at Elton. Hope they got a decent crowd
readingnotleeds
Halfway through on iPlayer atm, they've just sold an extra ticket to their November tour. Seen them live twice before and absolutely cracking both times

leej7
Never any regret watching that. What a f**king show by them, knew they had a crowd who loved them and boy did they show up.
pilton digger
No regrets over choosing QOTSA over Reg. Excellent and i am not sure the Other has been louder. Glastonbury town would have got some of that, especially the last 2 numbers.

huntyyy
Watched on Iplayer, really good. Looking forward to their London show later in the year. Couldn't help but notice they were using foam in-ears rather than proper in-ear monitors, do they always do that? rumpola
Queens was the best gig of the weekend for me and I'm so glad I didn't go and see Reg like everyone else. Smashed it out of the park.
Supernintendo Chalmers
It was a last minute switcheroo on my part and they f**king destroyed. Outrageous to start with "Go With The Flow". Josh walked out with a wry smile cos of the crowd size but it seemed like they saw it as a challenge. Three songs in and the crowd had easily doubled in size. And f**k me, they delivered. Edited June 26, 2023 by Supernintendo Chalmers
VCK
Of the acts I watched on iPlayer they were by far the most oustanding act of the weekend. Huge, loud, powerful and with an almost perfect setlist. They've been opening recent shows with Misfit Love which is one of the highlights of Era Vulgaris but very much a deep cut. Going straight into a f**king bullish performance of Go With The Flow was one statement of intent. And the comments in this thread just make that performance even more awe inspriring. Apparently volunteering to go up against Elton, and not allowing the clearly small crowd to knock their confidence, only bolster it. Absolute professionals. sprocketrocket
Utterly stunning set. I feel sorry for anyone that went to see Elton John over that.

alibear
I was convinced I was going to see Elton all weekend, but couldn’t stop thinking about QOTSA even though I got tickets for their November tour to make up for not seeing them on the farm. My hubby was still leaning towards Elton, but my parents tried to get to the Pyramid and said it was carnage so we decided to swerve it. We got to the barrier (and my husband is in a wheelchair so was super chuffed!) and my god did they smash that stage to pieces. I love that they were happy to go up against Elton - it meant the field was full of hard core fans. My parents decided on QOTSA too - their faces were an absolute picture when I met them on the VP after!
phillyfaddle
They slayed it 🖤🤘I was at the front of the barrier behind the pen. Perfect spot. 15 mins before, I was thinking OMG there’s hardly anyone here. But then 10 mins in, loads of people appeared who’d ditched Elton J and the crowd basically doubled. It was epic. It was a take no prisoners set. What a way to end the festival.
Xeph1995
Qotsa absolutely killed it, it's shocking the aren't bigger. Made AM look like a bunch of amateurs. Not even headlined download but Biffy have twice. Probably the best set I've ever seen at Glastonbury and I'm not sure it will be topped. BBC7BBCHEAVEN
Just watched the set and it's brilliant If it wasn't for seeing them in 2011 + upcoming tour id have been there. Elton was good but I was bored by the end of it.
Andre91
My favourite set of the weekend from here on my sofa. I think my second favourite was Rick Astley & Blossoms and then Loyle Carner.
