  1. I parked up at 3:15pm on the Thursday and my car parking field out west wasn't in use at the time of this photo so this sounds spot on.
  2. Toyah and Robert were great fun in the Acoustic last year with a rock heavy set and getting to hear the guy that came up with that squealing guitar line throughout Heroes play it absolutely perfectly live was quite special.
  3. I would but I don't mind popping out for a quick charge. Means I get to drive in to the festival all over again which is never less than exciting. Although one year I did this and totally forgot where I parked on my return to the festival which meant 2.5 hours wasted wandering aimlessly looking for a pylon I was no longer parked alongside.
  4. There is still a charging facility on site - some mobile rapids run by the AA near bronze gate. They're for emergency top ups if you are at a low state of charge and cost the earth (was £80 when I went to look in 2022) to get you to 80%. I've done the 220 odd mile journey in a 30kWh LEAF a couple of times and do arrive with not much left in the battery. On both occasions I've just left the site early one morning to use the Instavolts at a hotel on the other side of Shepton so I'm prepared for leaving on Mon morning. The queues at the rapids at Solstice Park in Amesbury are quite big on the way home though.
  5. Got it! it's not a band slot It's still not a band slot Think I'm ready to apply for a job at GCHQ now I've cracked the code.
  6. It is a rehash of a S*n scoop so the usual caveats apply. I'm a little sceptical that GA are indeed top of the Glasto wishlist for the slot as allegedly quoted although would have fitted in with an Avalon booking pre-Sugababes crowd issues.
  7. It's Girls Aloud according to the Maily Dail (link to the.text only site so they don't get any ad revenue): https://www.dailymail.co.uk/textbased/tvshowbiz/text-12791653/Girls-Aloud-play-Glastonbury-honour-Sarah-Harding.html
  8. I think the Freya link only appeared early the next morning but not that early! I grudgingly went to bed thinking I had failed miserably via dial up but logged on to Efests first thing in the morning to see the golden link which amazingly went straight in for my tickets. Told a friend at work a couple of hours later but didn't believe me, so she waited an hour or so before finally daring to do so herself (successfully).
  9. I was probably in the queue behind you both. Loved getting the physical tickets handed to me over their overly high counter and their giglist was the greatest thing in print back then, complete with typos you'd have to decipher to learn if it really was that band you liked or someone else closely named. Always had plenty eager to have a look after me in the office too.
  10. I must be an oddity as I'm happier to hear the solo stuff. He's got a decent solo catalogue now and his latest LP is the best yet. Hoping he's with us on the farm next year.
  11. Weird eh? Think NME has gone out too soon before the band's PR is in place.
  12. Definitely. The Paul Smith one is way better but pleased I got the Blood Recs release even though I'm now fretting about it being ruined by the damned sleeve!
  13. The second Ex-Isles album has been out a week and it's defo one of my 23 highlights. They like more than a bit of Scott Walker and later period Bowie then add some political commentary to it so given the climate of late that equals a rousing doom croon. Great piano driven pieces with plenty of good sax added for this release. Solid 9/10.
  14. Cheers for the heads up. Half completely missed the email so jumped on and got a copy. Just checked and still just over 3k left.
  15. It's fine for the kids packed lunches and improved somewhat with that.liytle sticker giving you a chance to win tickets for the festival but that's sadly lacking at the moment.
  16. Saw that Oxfam up in The Park had a rack of old footy shirts (and some rugby but not sure if league or union), with quite a few non-league teams. Harrogate Town is only one I can remember though.

    Celebrities

Sophie Ellis-Bextor and husband weaving their way out of QOTSA about 4 songs in to head backstage for the rest of Elton I presume and Fat Boy Slim watching Sparks. Mate saw Ben Whishaw and Jessie Buckley (not together) watching Max Richter.
  18. And the Toyah Wilcox and Robert Fripp set was a run through of mostly classic 70s rock with the chance to see the creator of the Heroes wailing guitar play it in full a great moment.
  19. 1. Queens Of The Stone Age - last saw them 20 odd years ago on the same stage and wow, what a difference a couple of decades makes. Absolute monster of a performance. 2. Sparks - great fun and the first set I properly enjoyed after spending much of the day in Festival Medical Services with concussion after a mishap earlier in the day. Ron Mael bounced through the whole set, singing flawlessly throughout and Russell's dance was the best all weekend. 3. Weyes Blood - another great set which made me feel quite emotional in that inexplicable Glastonbury way.
  20. That was something else. Left Elts after 30 mins to watch this lot blow everyone's heads off. Brilliant end to the festival.
  21. Good news if so. I'll give it another go then so thanks for the update.
  22. Mines been cutting out too and I would advise against listening in while driving as you end up enjoying the silence (or road noise) which tampers the excitement a bit.
  23. The best place to help fully organise your schedule is the amazing clashfinder - https://clashfinder.com/ where it's quite easy to come up with many different ways to do each day.
  24. I'm assuming it's going to be line up related so a terrible idea, but you could see why they'd do it, would be something like running all secret sets at the same time.
  25. Madonna runs on during I Can't Stand The Rain to rip off Michael's shorts to reveal a big pair of pants with Madge '24 scrawled across them meaning everyone talks about next year all festival long.
