  1. Loved 2014. Probably my favourite year. Does this mean we get Elbow back too?
  2. Was in the pink car parks out west last year and wandered straight up to Gate A no probs but recall previous years when stewards were directing over to Gate D so knowing where you are/having a little map with you certainly helps just to be safe if you need Gate A.
  3. I'm a Hitchin Hill regular (usually in line with the UNESCO flag that helps guide us in at the end of the day) but spent the weekend next door in Lime Kiln last year. The slope was noticeably slopier and fell off the camping mat numerous times each night but the views of the site as you go to bed and wake up each morning are spectacular. Happily watched the fireworks (and heard them several seconds later!) from our camp. And hope to be up here again this coming June if successful in the resale.
  4. Off to see the sandman between 2-3am after the usual trek back from The Cabaret tent and a bit of camp time then usually up around 8am before the burn really sets in.
  5. It appeared in the BBC report here but nowhere else yet _ https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-64827413
  6. Relief. The first drop signals the start of the build up to the festival which means the resale is now almost within sight. We've only a month to learn our fate rather than the 5 we had to endure after T day.
  7. But Emily then talks about the often bigger crowds in the afternoon than at night so made me think 'opening' might be earlier than subbing.
  8. Reads to me that Lizzo is playing a Legend type slot on the Saturday to get the big mid-afternoon crowds in a co-headline slot or am I totally wrong?
  9. Not on the offical site yet - just The Guarniad.
  10. I'd have thought the band would decide if their set-up will work once the call comes in rather than the booker making that decision and not bothering to try if the later slots are taken.
  11. 28th March at 9:01am and it will be on a white background as they've not used that since 2017
  12. Thinking about it that would be a fun way to do it. A good stage announcement before a band comes on can inject an extra little jolt of excitement.
  13. Easily I reckon, the cash is flying into the coffers!
  14. Me too! I think this will raise a huge amount for the appeal.
  15. J-MJ was supposedly 'in discussions' with Glastonbury about playing back in the early 2000s. He said so himself in a Sunday newspaper magazine interview or something similar but I guess it all came to nothing unless it was in the basis of "how about it in about 20 years' time?"
  16. I have to say I get a bit nervous every time I see the resale thread get bumped but fully understand the reason to keep it here on the front page. Give it a few weeks and and I'm sure his it will probably be a permanent fixture near the top of the screen.
  17. I've only now noticed the preference over the years for a 7th April balance payment deadline day. Interesting that Gooner's guess would be spot on if following the 2016 example and Mike's on the nose if on a 2017 style trajectory Thanks to the Thingy of course for the details and for immediately evoking the T-day nervous anticipation reading up on them as the Resale edges a tiny bit nearer.
  18. Could they just be removing the tent but keeping the stage (if the sound bleed doesn't run over to other areas)? I like popping into it once the Thursday is over but the sightlines are dreadful unless you're right inside.
  19. Just wish we were a bit closer to April. It's a long old wait for the resale.
  20. I've done the Thursday train quite a few times and it can still be a bit busy although nothing too onerous thanks to the military operation at Castle Cary. I found arriving early afternoon, on the el cheapo late morning run from Waterloo, was rammed with bags on laps and people standing all along the gangway. Approx 45 mins wait for bus at CC once you get there but roads are clear so 15 mins and you're off the bus at the happy place.and straight in as no queueing to get in at that time. Taking the late trains out of Paddington (eg 7pm ish) and it's a seat to yourself all the way to CC and no queue for a bus once there.
  21. 1327 from Jan '03 with an appallingly small no of posts that I'm too embarrassed to state! Have thoroughly enjoyed all 20 years of this mad ride and will try to find something to say a bit more regularly over the next 20.
  22. Reading this thread is certainly helping to build the confidence for April. I'd already been feeling pretty positive about it from the moment the fab resale groups sprung up and from re-reading last year's exciting resale threads on the T-days (thoroughly recommend searching these out).
  23. I find it great for the kids' school sarnies as they don't like the strong stuff (and neither do I really) but do tend to splash the worcestershire sauce all over it when melting it under the grill. And it's good know/believe that my purchases are helping the festival in some way too.
  24. Brilliant! And as ever always great to see an efester getting the good luck. Bet that cheese on toast never tasted better.
  25. They're playing another festival I've not heard of before in Bucks over the same weekend so great to see Neil & co hitting the road again next summer.
