  1. Tbh, and I'm not trying to belittle you or anxiety sufferers in the slightest at all, but even the most hardened, mentally strong people have those overwhelming moments from time to time at Glastonbury. I know there are times over the years that I've needed a bit of time to myself and so have the majority of people that I've gone with. Theres been a few tears shed more than once over nothing in particular and I'm not ashamed to admit it. One year, we had someone who had never been before and she was struggling come the Saturday and was worried that she was ruining it for others due to her anxiety. I told her that its completely normal and we've all been through it at Glastonbury at some point so not to worry as we understand what she was going through. She couldn't believe it was a normal thing and cheered right up afterwards. As has been said above, it's not for everyone, and the pressure of having to have a great time is immense if you're going with veterans who love it and it can be overwhelming.
  2. Yeah, I can't get the PM function to work either for some reason NI. If I do hear of any crew passes available I will certainly let you, Morph and wweer208 know as soon as I find out, but as I mentioned the fella I helped last year (a regular efester) has already asked for 6 tickets so not sure how many will be available. Anyway, you will all be successful in the resale. Keep the faith people.
  3. Ha, not surprised at all. Strangely enough, the fella I helped out last year just sent me a text to say he has seen my post and has already asked my friend if he has 5 tickets available to buy for next year. That probably means my chances of helping others off of here is close to zero now (and rightly so, as for me it has always been first come, first served). Obviously, if there are spares, I will mention it but only by PM as I got kinda chastised last year for mentioning it on here and I dont want to upset people as I'm just giving people an option. Morph, this goes for you too mate. No guarantees but will help if I can. Anyway, hopefully you will all get lucky in the resale, and I'm happy to help out with that too.
  4. I've helped a few off here get crew tickets for the last few festivals but they're normally around the £1k mark. I'm fairly confident I could probably get them again though but wont know until nearer the time. I would also like to add, I have never taken a single penny for helping those people out though, before anybody thinks I'm touting. Saying that, I did eventually accept a free beer at last years festival from the guy who gets them so maybe I am....? I would personally wait until after the resale before spending that sort of cash though.
  5. It's nearly time. See you all on the other side....... (of the fence in June 2020)

    Mallets or Thatchers?

Bought a Mallets for myself and two others in the Wood bar on the Wednesday. All three of us drank a mouthful, put the cans in the bin and walked off. Never again. Thatchers will always be better (especially if you can find Dry on tap in a pub).
  7. Fontaines DC- Williams Green Stormzy- Pyramid Dave- Other Stage (if only for Alex)
  8. No idea if they are still trading at the festival but I've always liked a Lukes Jamaican Jerk chicken. Chicken, rice n peas and salad. All anyone with a hangover needs.
  9. Ah, that's great news that all went well and you're making the most of those crew tickets.

Amen brother. The two days before the music are always my favourites. No having to be anywhere at a given time means the whole site is your oyster and you can do or be wherever you want whenever you want. To me, that is true freedom from the pressures of daily life and is utterly priceless.
  11. Very true. There's more chance of Michael saying this years festival wasn't The Best Ever than that happening
  12. There's been a rip in the Space/Time continuum and we're now in a world where cats chase dogs, down is up and Donald Trump isnt a complete c**t.
  13. Hi Ross,

Just a quick message to make sure everything went ok with Tim etc?

Saw him a few weeks back and he said it was ok but I always get a little nervous about these things being the one that instigated it.

  14. I refuse to take them seriously since their prediction of 220mph winds at the festival in 2011. Thinking about it, I'm not sure what's worse, that forecast or me being a Weather Thread addict for 8 years. Hello, my name is Jon and I've been addicted to GFS for over 8 years.....
  15. It was 22° at 7:30 and sunny in Bristol this morning but now a big cloud has covered the sun. Do I start cheering now to get in practice for next week?
  16. Mate just sent this photo from site. Said its from the bottom of Pennards next to the railway track
  17. There will probably still be space. Not sure if there will be down by the hedge between Hitchin and Spring Ground but elsewhere in the field there probably will be.
  18. That's exactly where my group tend to camp too. Never had an issue there in roughly 7 festivals.

    Glastonbury Regulars

    Coldplay 😎
  20. Saw Dub Pistols at Shindig last weekend and tbh, was pretty bored by it all. Rodney P beforehand was great though. A London Posse set somewhere would be pretty amazing though
  21. Some day- Wu Tang Clan Another day- Dave Everything before, after and in-between is filled with wherever my feet (and ears) take me. Make no plans, leave no trace....
  22. Had an excellent time again this year. Great music, great people and (mostly) good weather. Already looking forward to next year.

Obviously have absolutely no idea of what this about but as pangea was a super continent before the tectonic plates shifted and created chunks of land separated by oceans as we now know them, maybe we have a central area that then splits in to separate 'continents' or possibly dance areas. All with their own separate themes and sound systems. You could have latino dance on the South American continent, drum N bass on the European continent, afrobeat on the African and so on. It would be super cool to walk around Arcadia and have different DJ's and genres of music to listen to in a relatively small space as long as their isn't much sound-bleed between areas. I am more than likely totally miles off though
  24. Being backstage with friends one year and watching Jarvis Cocker doing a cover version of Whigfield's Saturday Night at a karaoke bus. The following day I was sat in my mates tent when Keith Allen was walking past and popped his head in to say hello. I offered Keith a 'livener' as we were currently enjoying one ourselves when he came out with the immortal line, "I'd fucking love one but I cant because I've gotta look after my fucking kids!". I hope Lilly realises the sacrifices her dad has made for her....

No problem. I wont mention it again if it's upsetting people.
