It's probably they are playing Avalon and headlining that tent, which you could argue is still  'headlining at Glastonbury'.

The can fuck off away from Avalon. Not having those stool riding, granny pleasing, ballad jockeys soiling the best area on site.

Well said that man . Westlife are example I always use when hilighting all the shit that x factor / Cowell type mass produced shite that's been churned out in last 25 years.  I couldn't name one single of theirs despite them having tons oh wait that Billy joel cover

Glasto ever made announcements on weekends?

The 2016 map was released on a Saturday night at about 10pm IIRC. I opened a bottle of wine to celebrate.

Including that map release, there have been 6 Saturday announcements, including The Killers  in 2007.

Same number on Sundays. So it happens but not often.

I wouldn’t worry it’s clearly nonsense, I put more faith in my cat taking a shit on a copy of the NME and seeing which act it points at.

Haha! God, I wonder how long it would take with no announcement for us to actually start resorting to this as a method of prediction

@Ayrshire Chrisyes Will Young played Avalon in 2016. Was a pretty decent gig, but better than that he was a thoroughly nice guy. Completely unexpectedly cool.

Saw it myself, albeit from just outside the tent. And yes, I agree  it was decent. He came across as an alright fellow.

    • Chaka can, or Chaka can't?
    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?    Just had another thought - Or even rent the land to the festival for CV pitches.......
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
