It's all making sense now!

Anyway. I'm happy with The Cure & The Killers. Probably be the first time I've watched 2 headliners since 2011.

And it would be the first time in ten Glastonbury's that I won't have seen a Pyramid headliner. I'm very slightly gutted as being there is a spectacle but I was always prepared that the headliners this year wouldn't be for me.

The Strokes are 100% a weaker headliner than The Killers.

They're better but they're not more suitable for headlining Glastonbury unfortunately. I'm not excited about the Killers but you can guarantee they'll smash it and get a very strong reaction overall (but obv not here).

"As the song drew to a close, The Killers then proceeded to deliver an impromptu cover of Oasis’ ‘Gas Panic’, taken from their 2000 album ‘Standing On The Shoulders of Giants’.

Can't believe I thought I'd be watching Hey Jude but we're getting this instead

Will it be all 4 Killers or Brandon, the drummer and some of his session mates?

It'll almost certainly be this.

But while I love the original lineup in terms of live experience the latest tour with the above config was the best I've seen them yet and I've seen them lots

Cards on the table - If there's nothing else on I'd see the Killers, especially if pissed.

Sames. I quite like The Killers, just a bit of a sorry state for them to headline in 2019.

I won't get into a big debate about it again, but it does baffle me how sometimes the same people who think the likes of Florence and the Machine could headline again rule out The Killers.

It'll be a long term bet so you've gotta commit to yr efests future, but if anyone wants a tenner to charity that The Killers won't headline on their next album cycle (if there is one, void if they split up lol) then gimme a shout. ?

You're on.

New album cycle is a bit of a grey area depending on where they're up to in June. But I reckon this should count lol.

I have been laughed at by so many people on here for insisting The Killers are clearly still in contention as headliners hahahaha.

The Killers, ffs must Mr Brightside follow and haunt me everywhere I go, song does my head in

Indeed, if ever there was a song to make you sit down in a bar it would be that one.

Culchies absolutely lap it up. Music for men in Subaru jackets with enormous hands like shovels and an unfeasible amount of dirt under their finger nails.

I didn't watch any in 2015 & 2016. Much as we all say it's hot about the headliners, I did miss not having anyone I wanted to see.

Yes, could be worse. But there’s also very little chance I’d see them. Mates and I chose *not spending all afternoon at the John Peel Stage* over seeing them in ‘17 - I’ve got some regret over missing that but not enough to see them headline the Pyramid.

wonder if @battleborn is still about

    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
