So assuming The Strokes are playing a UK festival, where else does that leave them to play other than Glasto? Just APE/Hyde Park? Could they do a Finsbury Park date?

I wouldn't rule out Boardmasters as an option. They've announced Flo, but still have 2 more headliners to reveal.

imagine singing proudly about drinking a 'lager top'.

Alright mate, my aunty loves a lager top and she's got nothing to be ashamed of.

Well as it stands with our guesses/predictions I wont be at the Pyramid for any of the headliners. I think that may well be a good thing... I can go explore or catch a better act on the Other and also beat the masses to the south east corner....

Saying that with those headliners I think the south east corner may get busier earlier than usual.

LG, CG, 75 nailed on. Sick.

To be fair, it’s only those three and Noel that we’ve had info on isn’t it? Even then, there’s also someone with info that Noel’s playing 2020. There’s normally at least one surprise so I doubt it actually will be those three but they’re the ones who seem most likely at the moment.

I don’t imagine Childish Gambino to still be in contention, really. No European dates yet, just a suggestion that they wanted him. And for all we know he could have laughed the offer out.

Someone on here PMd me that he'd been told it was LG, CG and LDR, and he got told this before Neil started the Stormzy thread with the CG info in it.

However he was also told Vampire Weekend were 4th down the Pyramid on Sunday lol.

The Strokes will 100% play a major UK festival of some sorts as part of the European part of their '2019 Global Comeback', be bizarre if they didn't. Just whether that's gonna be Glastonbury or not...

Other than Glastonbury where else could they go?

Reading/Leeds, IOW, Latitude have all announced. They're not doing Download. The likes of Kendall would be too small for them. APE doesn't fit their schedule. BST are unlikely to have them back after last time...

Only viable alternatives could be Rize (if that's even still a thing), TRNSMT (which wouldn't stop them playing elsewhere) or a one off gig somewhere like Finsbury Park.

Agreed, TRNSMT seems the only other viable option but as you say that wouldn't stop anything unless they try tie them down to UK exclusive.

The more I think about it as they drip feed these European festival headline slots, I can't see them taking anything other than a Pyramid headline slot.

Why would bst not want them back? Didn’t they have to reduce tickets to £2.50. I’m kinda worried it’s gonna be like arctic monkeys last year where trnsmt ended up being the only uk festival they did

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
