Ha I have wondered if he saw the tweet, I did feel a bit bad after reading his comments.

If he's reading this it was meant in jest 😂

He definitely meant your tweet. Which was hilarious, BTW!

Or should I say tweets!

That first one was apparently viewed 481,522 times. Chris Martin has to have been one of them.😆

I seen that top tweet was quote retweeted by someone pretty well connected in the music business and I had a noise at who followed them and there was some pretty big names who no doubt know Chris.

Makes you wonder what measures are in place to offset the environmental impact of the festival, even before the impact on the local land fill, nearly everything will have arrived by truck, sometimes from a fair distance away, a few thousand arriving by coach won’t be sufficient, nor is giving money to Greenpeace.

edit. It seems The festival has a CO2 positive effect on the planet, mostly by planting trees, assuming all the figures are correct and the trees actually get planted that’s fantastic. Now if everyone could take their crap home with them afterwards things would be even better.

Have you listen to the @GlastoCastpodcast with Luke from a greenpeace? There’s some really interesting bits on their about what they do to really reduce their area do to reduce impact on the environment.

Including getting their olive oil by ship from Palestine.

I feel sorry for him as he loves it as much as ANYONE on here (perhaps not Crazy Fool) but this is so funny.  Sat here howling.  Thanks

Lots of vehicles around the Ribbon Tower and G-o-S:

Fencers busy already - lots of panels laid out and forklift in operation lifting them. I'm guessing this means the forklift breakdown reported yesterday is remedied.

Woah woah woah!  I thought Seceet Glasto was a Somerset piskey that lived in a hole on the Farm and you've outed them as what is clearly a Gordon The Gopher/Flat Eric hybrid 😮

OMG. I have been looking at the webcam on my phone on and off for the past few festivals. Just opened that high resolution link on my laptop and it's a game changer. So much detail, much bigger screen. Bye productivity *waveemoji*

Yeah, I have friends in the build crew and there's been a lot of ash dieback issues sadly 😢

The trees on worthy farm are predominantly ash … and ash dieback will likely wipe out 80% ….. so over the next few years the farm landscape will dramatically change … hopefully they can replace them with some fast growing native species

Any idea why they've all died?

Wonder if The Glade stage moving out of the trees is related to it?

It’s a fungal disease that’s been spreading over the last few years … once it gets in there is pretty much nothing that can be done apart from clear and replant new species … that movement of the glade I’d think is definately related to it … they can’t clear it all at once because it’s a massive undertaking so will have removed the initially dangerous stuff

    • They are going to have Blink 182 for sure, early June upto around Werchter weekend I'd say for them. Two of Sweden Rock,  Greenfield and RFP are going to miss out.
    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
