  1. Oooo super thanks! Was supposed to be on a bit of a bender next weekend with the Lovely Eggs on Friday and Henge on Saturday. I may do it home-styley instead!!!

    People on Furlough....

i'm joining the furlough club from Monday too, as usual my company are not giving anything extra. I'll use the time wisely - I have a list of jobs to do at home, and I will probably get my cv up to date too. I wish i could decide at 50 years old what i want to do when I grow up!
  3. The Lovely Eggs.... Now Scrambled..
  4. Too many! Theres pulp on the park 2011 after a heavy few days looking after my mum, theres dancing in the glade to dreadzone on my 1st pill aged 40, theres watching ray davies in 2010 balling my eyes out as my dad had died a few weeks before, theres buying some gear from a bloke and being up 2 days later, there's sitting at a sunset with the ome you love the most, there's daft conversations with kids (and parents), there's hugs with strangers, I'm not sure even where to start!
  5. Sorry I don't believe that either, there might have been 250k and yes it did feel emptier the year after the super fence.. But not 500k, thats silly numbers!
  6. Yes there were but the site was about half the size, only about 80000 tickets, theres no way that there was 300k on site, let alone watching 1 band
  7. I was there and there definitely wasn't 300000 watching the Levellers!
  8. Hang on, are you doing 2 dissertations?
  9. Just updated their profile pic on Facebook, hopefully that means some activity at last!
  10. I tweeted them..... nothing....
  11. Well, my big tent is 7m x 3.5m... So not many of them! But my small tent is 3m x 1.5m, so quite a lot more!
  12. We booked tickets for this so do hope its a goer, as its my birthday weekend too! But yes, could do with an announcement!
  13. Jcb providing the hardware in cinemageddon!
  14. Morrissey to headline Friday night so i hear A new venue in the naughty corner, called Farage in the Garage
  15. The sound on the other stage can be shocking, depending on which way/how strong the wind is blowing. But I've generally found that sometimes the sound is better either right at the back or right at the front, there seems to be a dead zone around the mixing desk. Pyramid, sound i think is pretty good anywhere except right infront of one of the big front speakers. WH pretty good anywhere
  16. I'd be terrified of skiving and getting caught! I guess you minimise risks by not hanging around front of stages or wearing a big hat and glasses or something.. But thats the risk you take... But plenty of folk arrive friday evening and leave sunday...
  17. I recall them flogging tickets this year right up to the day. But it did seem very expensive for what essentially was a series of gigs with no massive Depeche Mode style big hitters. You could have seen most of the bands at any mid size festival over the summer. I remember saying at the time that it needed a rethink, and maybe doing safe in London will give them the opportunity to do that.

    Roger Waters

Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets finish a uk and European tour in early June, could this be a possibility for Glastonbury?
  19. Maybe some people go to Glastonbury for different reasons to you...
  20. 1994, had done 4 x Readings previous, thought nothing could top Reading. Needless to say I was wrong.

This depends on so many factors, which site you're booked on to, what the weather is like, where in the field you end up parking. Even someone else's breakdown on the way out. To be safe, you might be better booking your ferry for Tuesday.

    Pilton Hill Camping

Also bear in mind that anywhere off the main road is dark, twisty, single track lanes with high banks and hedges, and busier because of the festival. Dangerous, especially in the dark when someone is booting along not expecting to see a bike round the next corner. I wouldn't fancy it personally.
  23. It will be safe in the lockups but your bigger problem is that there are so many photo opportunities, many of them unplanned that either you will end up missing them because your camera is miles away, or you'll just end up carrying your camera all the time.
  24. The site expanded westwards considerably when the Park was introduced in 2007 (?) , but I dont recall tbat it went all in 1 go. Oh bollocks I don't know! All i know is that each year we camp closer and closer to that west fence!
