My favourite part of that set was the close-up of the woman on the barrier who clearly doesn't like The Vaccines during Wetsuit. She really didn't look pleased about Justin's crotch being right in front of her face.

Absolutely despise The Vaccines, but saw your comment and simply had to find and experience it.

12:07 into the video linked below for anyone else who missed it. He must target her after seeing her from the stage. With confidence I will say by a country mile, its the best thing The Vaccines have ever done.

Not yet, hopefully soon. They're a fantastic band. This board would start breaking things if they were ever booked though. The R&L section got very cross when they were booked in 2013, then went on to put on the best set of the weekend and get the best reception. Even the IOW footage the other year, when they weren't playing to their typical audience, looked like they really smashed it. Only thing is that I hear the latest album is not all that impressive, I've yet to listen to it myself though, I'm going to see them play live again in October though.

I've not listened to the new album either yet, I really like that 'Uma Thurman' song though. They're a brilliant live band though you're right.

He seems to have sucked the life out of that crowd

Then the Voiceover guy goes "it takes a whole for the crowd to respond after each song as they are so mesmerised by him".....,,.,....fuck off !!!!

I really hate that the BBC coverage of live music has just become sycophantic cheerleading. I can only think of Mark Radcliffe from the Glasto presenters who dares to have an ounce of cynicism.

Not a fan of his, but loved when Zane Lowe scoffed at the suggestion he might have seen Beyonce when she was up against Queens of the Stone Age, a genuine reaction but not a great career move in this pathetic climate.

I just love how he totally zones out as Lauren levere is going on about how great Beyoncé is, zanes "kill me now" face

He went up hugely in my estimations after seeing that.

Laverne was rapidly reclaiming the title of "Queen of Insufferable Nonsense" from Jo Wiley before Zanes cackle. A definite high point in his time with R1.

Ahh memories. QOTSA were phenomenal that night. Only Portishead have delivered a better set on that stage*

*Disclaimer: From Glasto's I have actually been at

Seen some great gigs at the other stage over the years, but I support your contention that those 2 were definitely among the best it's seen (and Portishead ARE the best it's seen, that gig was better than anything I've seen on any stage at the festival).

They were utterly spellbinding.

I teared up during the outro to Wandering Star, and then BAM! Straight into Machine Gun and the most insane audio/visual experience of my life. Sensational stuff

Haha she looks like a barrel of laughs. Never understood people sticking to the barrier all day looking miserable

No reason why not - jimmy eat world played in 2011 (and were amazing) and it's quite similar so could see it!

Thing is I can't see it ever happening. They'd probably ask for a big slot and I can't see Glastonbury giving them one.

The camera cut to the two girls beside her singing later on but she still wasn't enjoying it. Can't blame her given how dull they were yesterday.

Bang out of order that, mate. Really not on at all.

I wasn't there, though saw their TV coverage that night. I had never heard or Portishead at the time but I put that performance of Machine Gun as one of the most mind altering moments in my musical tastes. At the time I was pretty much just into rock and that was it but that really opened my eyes to a lot of different experimental types of music and I'm so thankful for that.

Ok Ok. I admit that was an over exaggeration. My bad.

Nobody could possibly wrestle that title from Jo Wiley. Except perhaps Fearne Cotton, but shes gone full time on celebrity juice now so she no longer counts

Christ, what a sour faced woman. Even if I were stupid enough to park myself at the front all day and put myself through acts I didn't like just to get to the one or two I did, I would try to enjoy them as much as I could, not just stand there looking stony faced and miserable. I bet she's just an absolute joy to be around.

A few stage announcements across this coming week and next week.

Full stage placings and times (all at once) - June 11th :)

* Sorry had to edit that - THAT'S MY GUESS, not me trying to "pass info".
