Yeah man, saw them at Leeds in 2010(?). Don't get me wrong, they weren't terrible, just leave me a bit cold. Each to there own I suppose, I'm the same with muse (and Prince on here!). Just baffles me a bit how they get the hype they do.

I saw them at Reading that year, as much as I loved it and it was awesome as always, it's not up there with my favourite gigs of theirs, much better inside, dark and sweaty if you ask me

But yes, each to their own, I wouldn't be-cry you of that, as I am a fellow anti-prince-hypee, he's a fucking nuisance

Yeah I was at that and didn't think much to it. They were having a bad time of it at the end of the last decade though; poor album reception, having to weave around side projects and most importantly the death of a close friend and ex-band member/ex-band member's wife. Time off did them well though and all I heard about them live on the last tour was 'better than ever'.

That's the first time I've seen Taylor Swift properly. Bland well-produced mass market pop music with nothing to make her any different to any other bland well-produced pop automaton. Im now more convinced than ever that the obsession some on here have with her is either an in joke I don't get or a mass delusion like the emperor's new clothes.

it clearly isn't, although you seem to be basing your opinion on a some songs off her current album, rather than a lot of her previous stuff which isn't anything like mass market pop, so I'm not surprised you've come to this incorrect conclusion.

Couldn't agree more. She certainly has a charm, but Glastonbury headliner? Nah. Gaga leaves her in her wake fr'instance.

how can an opinion be incorrect?

Examples:

"In my opinion, One Direction are hugely talented lyricists"

"In my opinion, that new "I got bills" tune is incredible"

"In my opinion, V Fest is amazeballs and has more to offer than Glasto"

These are all wrong.

There are opinions, such as: in my opinion, Alt-J are phenomenal live lately, and then there's just being wrong.

:)

The smug condescension on this forum at times makes me laff btw. Properly c**tish carryon.

Ahem...

Based on my limited knowledge and watching last nights performance, I see nothing to support claims she's a different proposition to any of the other pop acts like Gaga, Bey,Kesha and the like. Not that I have any problems with that, their best stuff is cracking music, but the whole fanboy thing from those that normally dismiss this sort of music puzzles me.

Good point well, if slightly plagiaristically, made

Or they just have different taste in music and have a different opinion to you.

I don't understand alt j or hot chip, but it doesnt mean other can't like them just because I have an opinion.
