Watching their set from yesterday back now. Crowd looks a lot more interested on TV than they were in real life! I'm only really a casual fan so - apart from no The Pretender, the song that first got me into them - that setlist was absolutely bob on perfect for me. Can't wait to find out how I feel after the 2hr+ marathon with other songs that I maybe don't know so well tacked on.

Dave Grohl apparently promised suprises in an interview on Radio 1 over the weekend. Who are we expecting/predicting....

Looking at the covers they've been playing on tour the obvious one is Brian May, even though I think the man is a bit of a prick.

Glade today, full lineup Thursday, that has to be it!

If that's true gd, I'd be thrilled. It really has been a slog to get to the proper announcement for me. It's my first Glastonbury, but I had resigned myself to the announcement(s) being very different/later compared to all of my other festivals, but even taking that into consideration it's been a bit mental.

I fully embrace the need not to try to plan your festival too much when there is just so much to see and do, compared to everyone else.

But in a way that's an argument for an even earlier announcement, the logistics of putting together such an absurdly huge programme notwithstanding.

In a way, the delay this year has 'helped', in that I was at almost unsustainable levels of excitement, which wained just very slightly as the continuous non-arrival of the main annoucnement continued on and on. Now, four weeks (FOUR WEEKS!!!) out, for it to arrive now will supercharge me again.

One one hand bloody annoying, on the other, brilliant marketing by GFL!

Roll on today and Thursday!

Lots of talk of Thursday, but is there any reason why the full shebang won't be released today?

I think it's because there seems to be good intel on Glade landing today and, if so, likely no Big One as the other 'smaller' areas have been given their own space on the day of their releases (Silver Hayes, Leftfield, Kidz Field etc.).

I've said it before but the delay in this announcement is so frustrating in terms of trying to find & listen to new music.

Usually I love going through the line ups of my preferred stages and checking out all the acts that I have never heard of. This year I have been unable to do that so far :(

Much prefer the staggered announcements this year. Each area is getting it's own bit of publicity and discussion. Glastonbury is almost a collection of mini festivals under the umbrella of 'Glastonbury Festival'. Think it's important that these stages are getting their own exposure.

As much as it's driving me mad, I perversely love this staggered announcement, slowly cranking up the excitement until the main stages and the full line up is out.

You see, I'm the opposite. Love having 4/5 days after a stage is announced to just go through the bands on their line-up. Have discovered far more this year than previous years when I was 'stage focused' and never really checked out the stages outside my usual 'go to' areas (Park, Acoustic, JP, West Holts)

As much as we're still short of a fair few bands, I refuse to believe that you cannot go on the festival listings of this site and find a few acts that you've never heard of before.

I've got my teeth into an absolute load of stuff from there and BSR's Spotify playlist.

Yeah - the staggered announcements give you more breathing space. Spent some time yesterday streaming a lot of nice new finds from the Silver Hayes announcement.

That, coupled with the steady drip feed of other self confirmations (like, say, Ibibio Sound Machine at the weekend there) are giving me plenty to go on.

You make a good point about the staggered announcements allowing us to listen to acts outside of our 'comfort zones', I think I'd just prefer it if it was a few weeks in advance of now.

I see your point, perhaps my problem is that I haven't really found anything yet that I have really got into.

Yeah I'm the same.

Only so many hours in the day to listen to stuff and the staggered announcements mean you're less likely to miss or overlook good acts

We're only a week away from when they announced stage times last year. Blimey.

I can't help but wonder why it's taking so long when they clearly have a full lineup... Unless there's had to be some major switching

I think they are ready, its just that they are in no rush and want to give the lower stages there time

    • A question has crossed my (questionable) mind;   Has the size of the Green Fields remained the same as other areas have expanded / been added on to, since say, 2014 (the last time that I attended)? Are they 'lost' within, or well attended?    That's actually two questions. The second one just slipped in at the end by taking advantage of my lack of means to stop it.
    • I'd say the same about Kylie.    Annie would be awesome, Duran not so much, and on the issue of them wanting a beanie slot, that probably rules out a fair few others who I think would fit the bill very well... and are legitimately more entitled to a headline, and/or too expensive.   Was just about to suggest Chaka Khan, but see @Gnomicide has beat me to it!    What about someone like Bryan Ferry?
    • It's certainly gone more that way, but then they went completely in the opposite direction and had Cat Stevens.
