They should move on from 2020 now really. Absolutely no need to book that set simply because its what was once announced two or three years ago. Just get each of them back when the next opportunity arises.

Tbf each of them are still just as relevant now as they were in 2020. If they’re available they should still be first choice over the alternatives IMO. Paul won’t have many tours left, Kendrick is presumably still on the cusp of a new record and Taylor has increased even more in stature. If they have a whiteboard of names in priority order I would still expect them to be at the top.

I really can't see Florence headlining. The last album didn't really sell that well compared to her previous records. She'd probably make a great sub-headliner or surprise act at some point during the weekend though.

There’s no chance she subs imo. That’s a kick in the teeth that I don’t think she would accept and the festival wouldn’t want to do to her. Surprise set or headline, and I still think her stature is big enough to headline even if she wouldn’t be the biggest one ever.

You're probably right there. Possibly still a bit too soon to be demoted to anywhere below headliner. She could well do the kind of set the Libertines did a few years back in the surprise Pyramid slot then? I just can't see headliner working now.

I was doing, but Little Stevie’s tweet has sent shockwaves. If Springsteen had a tour plotted and they’ve moved it a year because of how things look now, they certainly aren’t going to be the only ones. And we were of course waiting on artists who didn’t have tour dates in the diary yet.

January is a crucial month for summer fests and big touring acts making a stop/go decision. We’ll see how it pans out.

I think Glastonbury being in a position where they can get legit names to step in at fairly short notice - and even make huge occasions out of someone stepping up to the gig - then we’re alright even if no more massive touring acts are added to the pool.

What did Stevie say?

I think Florence headlining again is just efestivals running away with a naff option, like when we debate ourselves into holes that Glastonbury’s best options are either Foals or Biffy Clyro.

One thing Macca has is that Emily seems to be very close with his family at the moment. Mary McCartney and the others are pretty vocal of their friendship on instagram. It’s not much but Macca could be lining up Glastonbury and nothing else. Especially if he is UK based and isn’t too sure about touring internationally.

Agree. Macca some where not doing anything else doesn’t mean much. He just does what he feels like. I still think he’s in but maybe on the Sunday with someone more contemporary on the Saturday.

My gut tells me that it’s Kendrick which hasn’t materialised. Billie and Macca are still in. Macca seems the most likely to do Glastonbury as a special show, especially if he's based in the UK (or could go to the UK a week or so in advance if needed).

I reckon they've got a new Sunday headliner. I think they have plenty of options to call instead of Flo.

You never know… they could of re approached another UK based blonde haired act for that Sunday. Or a brunette one.

This. It's just not going to happen. She's not a big as when she headlined and that was a bump up.

Unless of course the new album is a massive seller with huge singles but she's been moving away from this for 2 albums now.

Kendrick turning down Coachella could be everything to do with their radius exclusivity clause. Might be that he has a whole tour mapped out ready to be announced, and he doesn't wanna compromise that to play Coachella. Would be a viable explanation for him turning down the £££££££s. He obviously isn't led by cash if he's doing Glastonbury.

I mean... fuck me. Are we letting this go?

I've already asked about this. Apprently SHM are massive... I'm not sure I know of anyone who actively chose to listen to them; have always seemed like Muzak for hairdressers and chain bars to me, but hey ho.

When Coachella books last min they sack the radius clause. Billie is booked and she’s playing in LA the weekend after I think?

these dates may be moved though!
