Guy Incognito
It's decent line up, but there's nothing thats eally gonna persuade me to attend for the first time. I reckon I'll do EOTR again instead. Edited January 29, 2020 by Guy Incognito
the wonderwhy
Thing with EOTR for me is I've seen half of their headliners (Pixies and Big Thief) four or five times each over the last couple of years. At least with Green Man they're pretty fresh to me (although I have seen Little Dragon and it was atrocious). Just realised there's no Phoebe Bridgers 😪

benali
Not fussed by the main headliners apart from Caribou. Loads of good stuff underneath though. Parquet Courts has got me all excited. Settlers tickets bought.

Starting with Little Dragon this morning. You should ALWAYS start (and, in my opinion, end) with Nadine Shah. Who is like a shiny golden nugget in amongst the (comparible) dross. x

They have done, but so does Torres in her current video. Essentially it could be so many people that it's meaningless to take it as a clue even if it actually was intended as one. grumpyhack
Bagged four tickets plus my caravan ticket this morning. The line up names mean very little to me, but that's more of a comment on my current musical knowledge. than the status of the acts. Having been twice before I reckon it's a delightful fest in a magnificent setting. Always been happily surprised by a few bands so now a chance to start my YouTube voyage of discovery - plus any recommendations from here.. It's only about 40 miles up the road for me so is an easy caravan tow. And, like all fests for me, it's not so much about the music as a chance to chill with old friends. Maybe an EFests meet to be arranged nearer the time?
Losing my hair
Little disappointed by that as I love the festival. I've seen/have tickets to see most of the acts I'm interested in apart from Bambara and Do Nothing. I'll have to check out the unknowns before buying a ticket. lessthanwill1
My initial thoughts: I think the line up is very solid but I don’t LOVE it. That could obviously change with the addition of a few more acts though (I’m thinking Bat for Lashes, Phoebe Bridgers and Bikini Kill personally). Headliners: I love Caribou so will probably see him. I’m not overly fussed about MK although I do like the new album - will probably catch someone else though. Won’t be seeing Mac so that’s one less clash to think about. Don’t actually know Little Dragon - presuming they’ll be the Thursday headliner? Other acts I love: Sandy Alex G, Richard Dawson, Black Midi, Goldfrapp, Otoboke Beaver, Vanishing Twin, Porridge Radio and Sinead O’Brien. Other acts I like so will probably see: The Murder Capital, Viagra Boys, Parquet Courts, Thundercat, Lucinda Williams, This is the Kit, Sudan Archives, Bambara, RVG, Lazarus Kane and Liz Lawrence. That’s a lot of acts for first announcement - more than 2018 and 2019 for sure. Lots I haven’t heard of either which is great!
hez
Happy with that overall, first time at Green Man and doing settlers so looking forward to it regardless. Pleased with Michael Kiwanuka, Caribou, Mac Demarco, Little Dragon, Goldfrapp, Thundercat, Parquet Courts, Ty Segall, Black Midi, Shame, This is the Kit, The Murder Capital, Sudan Archives, Boy Azooga, Bambara, The Orielles, Steam Down, Do Nothing. Loads when I list it out like that! The rest I need to familiarise myself with, but I am sure I will find a load more I like. Is that the three headliners they have announced? I thought in previous years they announced two now and saved one for later on?

Seems like all three have been announced though this time and I’m assuming Little Dragon is Thursday headliner as they referred to them as headliners as well. Gilgamesh69
Do we know the days for any of the acts? Also, are Snapped Ankles pretty much a house band? Wondering how likely they are to return
lessthanwill1
PREDICTION GAME RESULTS By my calculations, the joint winners are: - Me (lol) and @Callum_96 with 7 correct guesses In joint 3rd place are @benali and @Cottsy with 4 correct guesses. In joint 5th place are @Tatterdemalion, The Wonder Why, @SweepingTheNation, @dentalplan and Muddy Holly with 3 correct guesses. In joint 8th place are @NCruz, @rug568 and @Happyboypricey with 2 correct guesses. In joint 11th place are @JHad and @zzzfest with a solitary correct guess. In last place (sorry) is @retromoz with no correct guesses. If anyone disputes these results, feel free to let me know. There is a whole excel spreadsheet behind this so I’m hoping this is all correct!! Interestingly the most predicted act - Fontaines DC - was not announced. They were predicted by 8 different people. 2
thespiral
For the first year in a decade we are doing neither GM or EOTR. Very underwhelmed with both. A lot of the same old, perfectly fine , but *not again* names....looking at you Parquet Courts 😃 I just think the festival circuit in general is looking tired and weak this year .They all seem to be struggling for upper tier names. You only have to look at the reactions to the first announcements. I can't remember seeing so many <shrugged shoulders>

the wonderwhy
No real 'must sees' for me (except Caribou) but would be well up for: Kiwanuka, Mac, Thundercat, Agnes Obel, Parquet Courts, Ty Segall, Shame, LUMP, This Is The Kit, (Sandy) Alex G, Kokoroko, Nadine Shah, Murder Capital, Viagra Boys, Caroline Polachek, Boy Azooga, Orielles, Working Mens Club, Liz Lawrence, Porridge Radio, Fenne Lilly, and Do Nothing. So think we're onto a winner.
