Without necessarily wanting to whack the hornets nest (okay, I kind of do), now that Foals have been announced as not-even-first-on-the-headline-line for Kendal Calling, I think that "yes they are definitely big enough to headline Glastonbury's 50th" argument has probably been put to bed.

Good few weeks of civil war fun though, eh

Doesn’t their placement on the poster just suggest they’re the Sunday headliners?

Wiley...? The whole Stormzy vs. Wiley thing going on right now feels like a publicity stunt to me. Could be like a year apart battle. Who can do the Friday night Pyramid UK Grime headline slot the best? Or could he do a similar Other sub slot as Stormzy 2017 and Dave did.

Wiley is the biggest pile of shite I have ever had the misfortune of witnessing.

Still though... headlining Kendal Calling, where bands go to admit defeat.

It was a nice few months of thinking Foals might be able to pull it back (cue Gazza popping up promptly to say they were never gonna pull it back and he was right all along).

I think the lineup looks decent, but it does have an air of once you have headlined Kendal calling you are not going up anymore, I am not sure why that is ??

You’d be gutted if you were still in the bar as she came on...

I know that festival cannot and should not place any mandates over what their artists actually perform up on stage, but surely any booking of Madge has to be on the understanding that she brings the hits.

If she brings that shit she'll have an empty field for her encore.

2020 is clearly booked by now but maybe madge could be in the frame for 2021

or alternatively emily is using her industry connections to get to see a living legend in a reasonably sized london theatre for free. not like this stuff happens every day.

Apparently the gig started an hour late so "Act I" was cut to meet the curfew. Act I contained God Control, Dark Ballet, Human nature and Express Yourself (A Capella) the night before.

It sounds like Act I being cut just saved the audience a little more pain (and no bangers)

    • Gavin Leigh Davis on Instagram, the Fabrizio Romano of tour leaks, says Sam Fender outdoor shows and likely festivals next year. Didn't explicitly mention Glastonbury but adds more to the rumour
    • I think a lot of you guys don't see Tate McRae as headliner material however she was originally billed to play back in 2025 and had to pull out (https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/glastonbury-2025-headliners-revealed-tickets-line-up-1235915362/). She sold out out all of her arena shows in 2025 and just brought in huge crowds at Oshega and Lollapalooza. Given that she's gearing up to release the second album it lines her up for a tour run in her same gap as she's usually over here over Glaso weekend. I wouldn't rule her out.
    • I’d expect U2 & Muse to be options too.
    • I see there's yet another article doing the rounds about Madonna doing BST, and not Glastonbury.   That could be right, but given there'll be plenty of tickets to shift for BST, could it not just be false info doing the rounds to protect that?? Not that I think Madonna would struggle to shift tickets, or that Glastonbury would have that much impact, but still - would probably still make sense to protect ticket sales when it's announced?
    • Given BST recently I wouldn't expect it as rock heavy as that. I kinda am expecting it'd be where The Cure play though as I'm expecting a second year touring of them
