The Download one on here isn't really active enough to bother with so I thought I'd come and entertain/irritate (delete as appropriate) you lot while I'm here.

Bless...

Isn't your username a Killers album and you appeared alongside rumours of their secret set? I don't really associate The Killers with Download.

Ummm, that's kinda weird. Or attention grabbing at least. Which is also weird.

On the plus side at least we k ow know to pretty much ignore anything you come out with. So that'll free up some time.

What’s amazing is that we are able to debate all of this and there is no true answer! Yes you could easily say whether a band could headline download or green man, but would anybody have ever predicted Metallica, Kylie, Stevie Wonder, Rolling Stones, Kanye, Beyoncé and the rest? The beauty of it all is that anyone could be right. And the idea that the Eavii would book someone to keep the glasto faithful happy is a lovely load of old tosh!

I like yer heavy stuff, but MCR are dreadful. I was in Amsterdam a few years back with a few mates, in a bar one evening - that black parade nonsense comes on, and I’m just forming the sentence “what a load of cod-goth teenage bollocks” when I look around and four of my idiot mates are singing along with it.

I was - and still am - disgusted.

Not enough people in green skinny jeans with dyed black hair who hang around in shopping centres or vaulting metal bars outside churches at Glasto for MCR to headline.

Ive got green trousers, dyed black hair and hang around in shopping centres. And I go to Glastonbury

But that’s because I’m 44, unfashionable, going grey and go shopping (for hair dye).

I had a listen to the Black Parade album this evening. Masterpiece ??. Can't imagine being such a curmudgeon as to not enjoy that.

No argument here. And I'm Not OK is a stone cold classic tune

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
