I thought that was IOW! What's it like down there

Been glorious down here on the island for the past couple of weeks. It pretty much turned as soon as the festival started.

Currently pissing it down.

Aaaallthough, a quick check of my pictures confirms a very soggy Download 2011 and Glasto 2011

Someone stole my wellies from outside my tent at Download that year. Had to leave in flip flops. Bastards.

Yeah.....

I hate flip flops too.

More often than not IOW and Download seem to be washouts, its funny that Glastonbury has this reputation for mud and rain but the IOW for definite seems to rain every year.

Anyway, this morning I'm in disarray not knowing what to think, up to now I've always found Accuweather to be, well, very accurate, but last night after work I thought i'd check the weather to see if a quick BBQ was plausible, it told me in my location it was no more than a 5% chance of rain all evening... it got greyer and greyer and the mother off all Thunderstorms broke out and lasted about 2 hours. All the time Accuweather insisted it still wasn't raining. The moral of this story, trust nothing when it comes to weather.

More photographic evidence from Glastonbury.

Glastonbury is cracking on for the capacity of Download and Isle Of Wight put together, probably has a bit to do with more photographic evidence.

Out of the six times I've been, I've been quite lucky. Not had any sustained really crap weather, yeah there have been bits but it's not lasted. In me Yorkshire-fied version of weather reporting there's good, ok and crap and apart from 2010 jumping into the good category it's been ok.

Has anyone seen the videos.from Download? Fuck-ing hell! Take a look on Glasto Chat on FB, some scenes worse than 05 or 07 on there!

Said it on here before and got stick for it mate, if it was like that i'd be back in manchester for tea time... that is no fun...

The weather at Download definitely seems to have gone down the toilet since I stopped going...:P

Got utterlty soaked on me cycle to work, had to change into scrubs... Hopefully this is the Weather Gods way of compromise for a dry Glastonbury..

Latest weather for the week ahead on the BBC looking promising and they are even using the word confident. The high pressure that is arriving (more of an Azores fist that just a finger) looks from what other weather sources are saying to be a strong one and indications are it will hang around for quite a while.

A long way to go yet but this is quite promising.

The Accuweather forecast has switched back to rain everyday again.... However, reading some of the articles about download forecasters have suggested that they may see as much as 15-40mm of rain in one hour, the Accuweather forecasts suggest around 1mm of rain for Glastonbury, so if they don't change for the better then we'll still be incredibly lucky!

    • I think some folks are underestimating how many millennials, now into heavier music, were genuinely also into things like techno and happy hardcore in the 90s and early 00s. Scooter may be about is commercialized as it gets when it comes to happy hardcore and techno, but for many, they won't be just a 'silly act' they will be a genuine nostalgia act.
    • Can anyone share please as can’t access the app
    • Someone said something along the lines of "the lows were really low but they highs were really high" and I think that sentence sums up my ps experience this year. Thursday was a downer (even though I got to see men I trust, geese, oklou and fcukers), but the weather, the missed shows and the uncertainty (those comms...) made it a bad day. Friday and Saturday on the other hand where rly good, a bunch of amazing shows each day (The Cure one was quite something), that surprise on Saturday...   Will be back next year, hope they get another impressive lineup as this year (quality and quantity wise) and that tickets and  primarily hotels don't get much more expensive.
    • Rosalia Radiohead NIN MGMT Bjork David Byrne   Also Vince Staples' new album is cool. I could see him returning.
    • If we are guessing then I think it's   Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls   Weezer   The All-American Rejects
