Weather 2016

My burn story I've told many times on here, it went something like this:

* I cut my Beatles length hair to a no.3 before leaving for the 2004 festival

* Was very windy + sunny and I discovered 2ltr bottles of Brothers

* I didn't apply any sunscreen, or wear a hat.

* Next day I was in the medical tent with 'weeping sores'. I got an almighty bollocking and was ordered to go and get a sombrero style hat with shade

* Said sombrero was too scratchy on my weeping sores, so I had to purchase an additional hat to go underneath.

The rest was history.

... In my naivety the only moisturiser I had was cocoa butter (not knowing this was the worst possible idea ever), so slathered this on...

This weekend's prize for great use of 'slathered'

This weekend's prize for having Beatle-length hair in 2004 *and* it leading to your world-famous moniker

blazing sunshine/heatwave is easy to deal with.

- suncream REAPPLIED during the day

- a hat

- drink water

if you're particularly fair; long, light, loose clothing to cover arms and legs.

there are plenty of tents big and small to get shade in, everything from the JP and Avalon, down to Pussy Parlure, Stonebridge and tiny little ones in the greenfields.

I was covered in heat rash and blisters on my hand and got heat stroke last year and I'm still keeping everything crossed for a heatwave. Will just make sure to buy a big hat and apply suncream more often! Cook me babeeeee!!! I'm also a ginger.

So we've gone from rain everyday... To a heatwave and 30 degrees, what could go wrong now?

We're talking about a forcast for a period over a week away, commonly known as fantasy land in meteorological circles things are looking very good for the early half of next week but the models are still showing a range of possible outcomes thereafter, this means confidence in forecasts for that period is currently low, however the good news is at present nothing is suggesting things will be awful.

2007 was awful and I'd rather take 2010 - although most things I see are in tents anyway. But there's something to be said for the atmosphere. 2007 was horrendous but there was the whole blitz spirit, people up for a good time regardless. 2010 people were just exhausted all the time, there was very little energy about and it showed.

Not complaining mind, but it does have a weird impact on the site that you won't get if you've never experienced it first hand.

2010 changed my face permanently!

i love the sun, but after the tan/burn/premature ageing I underwent after 2010 my forehead has never retained sweat, when I exercise sweat just beads and runs straight into my eyes. Never happened before Glasto 2010.

I swear by magicool- http://www.boots.com/en/Magicool-Body-and-Face-Cooler-Spray-200ml_2239/

It won't solve heatwave temps but it will help make them more bearable.  Even if it's not 2010 weather, it's beautifully refreshing at various times such as inside some of the tents.  Plus it can be a useful way to make friends (though ask before spraying it in someones face you don't know).

The key to staying hydrated in a hot one is to drink a bit of water every now and again.

Worked a treat for me in 2010.  I spent more money on smoothies than cider that year and my water bottle got a regular top up.

    • Really thought 2025 was going to be the year,  but alas we wait
    • Playing a bit of devils, isn't that the case for any act? If you csn get a bigger sub or or 3rd etc the next will play lower. Tbh they would probably be best headlining second so in the kinda in between slot, that would be better. Get GC on second and Avril on main subbing Friday for Blink. But I'd expect it would be Avril sub and GC second another day.
