Lots of spread in the ensembles this morning from the GFS. Chances of a heatwave limited (based on this one set).

Some agreement on a period of rain coming through tuesday/wednesday. After that it's a mix of settled runs with fine weather and cooler more showery conditions. There's nothing to indicate a horror show, so at the moment I'm inclined to think there will be some rain during the festival but generally nothing horrific.

Even if it does clear up for the festival, blimey it's a miserable build this year.

I'll take it.  I've sat here enough times with the sun splitting the sky for the previous fortnight, only for it to go tits up the second the gates open.

Sir, I salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability at turning the topic back to Manchester, where it rightly belongs.

 You have lost me mate. The words beautiful and lovely should have made you realise that no one could possibly be talking about Manchester.

Now George Galloway, what a c**t he is.

Yeah.  The picture is improving day by day, this spell before the festival will keep overall temps down even if it is wall to wall sunshine, so that will keep the good people of Manchester happy.

although that latest forecast for Pilton looks great, iPhone weather is the least accurate.

I was in Bristol the other weekend where thunderstorms were forecast for the afternoon as late as 10am, only for it to be a sweltering day with no rain at all :/

Generally I find that the Met office & BBC's longer range forecasts are always more conservative and err towards poor weather, then improve as time gets closer.  It's certainly been the case this spring with several periods of rain predicted that gradually got less and less severe until they didn't occur at all.

Hopefully the wet weather this week won't make the ground conditions too heavy going during set up. It looks like it might brighten up nicely for the festival! We need Big Dog to send back reports of underfoot conditions!! I'm predicting the going will be "good"!

Thats my fave kind of rain. You have to love the stuff that gets lost on the way.

I think it'll rain most days in the run up but nothing too heavy, it'll stop it from being a dust bowl at least and make the ground a litle softer for tent pegs.

I imagine weather will be fine on the whole with a few showers

I'm still sticking with my prediction that there would be no more than 5 days of rain over the 15 days before the festival.  At present we've had a couple, I think 2 or 3 more in this spell at the most, with even those being not as heavy as forecasts suggest.

I concur, much like last year wasn't it? I'm about 20mins from site and it's just been gimpy drissle last few days, shagged it down for a bit early evening yesterday but nothing really.

Im prediction is a repeat of last year.

Yeah, as long as it sticks to the traditional bit on Thursday evening and Sunday night pattern that the best years have enjoyed I'll be perfectly happy.

There's not been nearly enough rain to hamper the sites ability to cope during setup, nor is there time for any to come now and have a serious impact.  As I see it all that matters is that it doesn't rain Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.  Nothing significant to fear.
