30 degrees?

Ill take my chances with what Download have had rather than that.

Notwithstanding the challenges of a really hot one, you have to be joking, Fuzz?!

Some of the pictures looked like Glastonbury 2007. Rivers I tell you, RIVERS!

Ankle-deep mud slop vs. trying to keep cool and hydrated. Hmmm...let me think!

:)

Nah

The only Festival Ive ever had serious problems with, was 2010 glastonbury. My issues are always sun related. I can cope with rain, but it certainly isn't preferable than dry.

Heatwave or Rain? Ill take the rain. At least I wont be ill.

Not far away yeah.

Last year I was that burnt I had people asking me if I was ok on the thursday. I was sat in  glasto latino on thursday afternoon and a random steward asked me if I wanted to see the doctor.... I wasn't even that bad!

as much as I love the heat and want a dry glastonbury , I've got to admit that 2010 was probably as demanding as the wetter years following it.

that said I'd take a heatwave over a wash out or even a bit of rain. as long as you keep your water and suncream topped up its all good

i'VE heard it shall we an ever so lovely blend of sun and showers, just right I hear, ok lets wait and see, we do like a nice bit of sun on us throughout but then to have that occasional light shower is refreshing and reminds of how lucky we are to have NFC and NFR!!

i'd definitely take a heatwave over rain, especially after seeing all those Download videos, but a few degrees lower with some cloud coverage every once in a while would definitely be preferable. 2010 was definitely a struggle and i missed a heap of acts as being in the shade started to become the main objective of the weekend

Ben, if you've been getting the same pictures on Facebook as me, some of the pictures were actually of Glastonbury 2005...

oooh ouch!!!

Saying that in 2010 fella burnt his arms in the queue to get in as didn't put any cream on....as you can imagine it only got worse as the days went on to the point he took his trouser leg bottoms off his shorts and covered his arms lol

If we're exchanging burn stories, last glasto, my first, I got burnt on my shoulders napping in the sun on Thursday. In my naivety the only moisturiser I had was cocoa butter (not knowing this was the worst possible idea ever), so slathered this on. The burn got worse to the point where my shoulders were each covered in a blister at least an inch and a half in diameter, which I then had to go get popped in the medical tent and have my shoulders bandaged up. Not a great look

    • On the whole then, yay or nay...I've had a look on festivals united and there's people who seem converted by Rock Im Park, I can imagine it might be different if it was a washout as RaR is tarmac.   The hotel side would be more to convince the non campers if it's an option. On my first visit to rock am ring we were shuttled into the area where you could stick the car next to the tent which was fantastic as it meant zero lugging of camping gear.
    • An interesting thing this. Having seem them several times (some of their gigs veer into back catalogue niche territoty), I partly agree they arent Pyramid material (theough modern defeinition of 'bangers' although I could see them headlinging the Other stage) I can't think of another festival in the world that they couldn't headline - Reading, IoW, BST, Rock Wercheter, Roskilde, etc etc.
    • Ohhh it’s very, very good.
    • I'm sure you like silly music too but is it because it's not a Download traditional type act it gets looked down on? Rock am Ring booked them, and they sell every year so don't actually need to   Andy going and being replaced is the best thing that could have happened to Download, someone fresh to mix it up a bit rather than just a complete rotation. The only reason Andy booked ST in ti headline too was because he loves them and he was going on to manage them. Nah, Andy booked FOB in a year where over 20 acts were asked, I'll guarantee if they get Blink and having had Green Day they did not need 20 bands to come to those. FOB are also not one that have been booked in Europe to headline by anyone other than Reading as co-headliner as far as I can see. They weren't a ooh god yes they've booked FOB.
    • Would love to see them headline as well, but agree with Mr Bailey ☹️
