    2024 Headliners

Something tells me Coldplay got shelved for the Bruce. Dua, Madonna, Bruce? I think the "2 female headliners booked" strong statement last year suggested Dua and Madonna are set.

    2024 Headliners

Taylor, Madonna and Dua all could do it, all worthy of doing it and will be in their touring lifecycles to do it. Also creates a rare op to have three female headliners if a statement wants to be made (without it feeling like its been done to make a statement). Whether that's all too "poppy" for Glasto that's another thing, but if you combine it with a more traditional Other lineup they may just about get away with it. (Riri will have a 10 month year old by that point, highly likely she ain't be doing it....pencil her in for 2025 though).
  3. Wow this thread.... Was she a total div for being late? Yes. Did she disrespect her fans? Yes. Was the festival right in cutting her off at the time they said they would? Yes. Is it right to make the assumption that if a man regularly behaved like this many would think its "rock and roll behaivour" but if a woman immediately does it, she's regarded as difficult? Yes. All the above can be true. Ultimately a damning indictment on her, and a more damning one on socital behaviour. That's it really. And this is coming from a massive Lana stan. Can we all move on now?
  4. Just spotted Lizzo in the wings, she shudda subbed tonight!
  5. Can we end this boring chat about constitutes as worthy of being at a music festival and what isn't....

    2024 Headliners

Madonna probably with her incoming tour or is she more suited to Legends now (and maybe that is what Emily meant?)
  7. Shows the quality of journalism on that stream then.... 😂😂😂
  8. BBC News live stream says Lana started on time, iplayer issue?
  9. In response to Matt Healy mocking asian people and being awfully racist on a pocast recently. Prick.
  10. I've seen her live and thought she was a SUPERSTAR. But I think this is a bit all over the place vocally, and a bit....flat? Maybe she is warming up. Also makes me cringe a bit when artists do a copy and paste of their tour and it takes them about 5 songs to address a festival crowd...
  11. Couple Top 40 tracks, but then big moments on the Jubilee and Eurovision 2023 so mixed bag. Sold out UK tour though at mid sized venues. I am shocked he wasn't booked for this year to be honest.
  12. Maneskin smashing it, they just scream stage sex appeal.who would have ever thought Eurovision winners would be here? Petition to get Loreen at 2024 😂
  13. Another album and 2026 headliner nailed on. She killed it.
  14. Disagree, dare I say it but she is proving how she would have smashed it as a headliner tonight.
  15. Wowser if in fact true this is a massive coup, and perfect for her. Half of minds will be wanting to book her for Legends 2024, the other half remembering she's never done a full live set in her life. This seems a perfect compromise. As a big Britney fan, will be very sad I won't be on the farm to witness this!

    2024 Headliners

Emily confirmed to the BBC today 2 female headliners booked for 2024. Taylor and Dua pretty much nailed on then. (Or Madonna?)
  17. I always enjoy at this time of year following Metacritic's aggregation of all Top 10 end-of-year lists to give a more "definitive" view of what can often be very subjective. Here was last year's, sure they'll start the 2022 count this week: https://www.metacritic.com/feature/music-critics-pick-top-10-best-albums-of-2021 They also do TV/Films too which helps narrow what to watch!
  18. Think Steps will get a booking eventually. There's a wider point here about as festival demographics shift, there is a clear interest from big crowds for these sort of "pop 90s/00s heritage" acts, as seen with mel C, Sugababes and Mcfly this year. Avalon either needs to expand or these acts need to be shifted elsewhere as those crowds were clearly dangerous, and it's only going to get worse.
  19. Agreed, this will be my last for a while. I actually found that a 6 year hiatus since going in 16 meant this year was really special for me. It also helped that not seeing many artists (Sunday just saw Diana) meant i could spend more time chilling in the fields, going to Lost Horizons and taking it easy. It also helped the weather was fantastic, if it had been a muddy year I think i would have broken and given up and gone home. It was a very great year for me to finish on for a while, 2016 ruined Glasto for me a bit so glad I got to end on a high. Will be back for sure, but maybe not this decade.
  20. Olivia Rodrigo and Self Esteem KILLED it. Sigrid, Macca and Phoebe were all brill too.
  21. Well as the festival wraps up, perhaps we can all agree this might have been one of the best Glasto weathers in recent memory? Not too hot, not too cold, sun was out nearly all the time, enough cloud to give relief at times, bar a couple light drizzles totally dry. Absolutely glorious!
  22. Well as the festival wraps up, perhaps we can all agree this might have been one of the best Glasto weathers in recent memory? Not too hot, not too cold, sun was out nearly all the time, enough cloud to give relief at times, bar a couple light drizzles totally dry and grass you could sit on all weekend. Absolutely glorious!
  23. Agreed, what an update to wake up to. Thank you all for your incredible work as usual, the Weather Thread continues to be a ride and a half. See you all there!
  24. Looooove that the Thurs rain might not actually be a thing. That nearlly tipped me over edge today.
  25. I actually have no idea what Kool-Aid BBC are drinking here when all the Runs/other sites suggest some rain will at least hit, they're either smashed this or going to have eggs on their face very soon. Hoping to the Weather Gods it's the former!
