Weather looks pretty f'kin amazing in the run up.  Rain stops by the preceding Sunday, ground dries up nicely for you lot to travel down on the Tuesday, sipping Somerset's finest sat on the grass by Wednesday lunchtime, happy days.

Not going to be as warm as where I'm going to be, but I guarantee for those 5 days you'll be damn sight happier.

As long as it's dry upon entry, I'm easy with what can happen.

Oh dear dear no.  Where's Jimmy Carr when you need him.

WeatherPro, never leave home without it.  Also, Rain Alarm Pro, not that you'll be needing it of course.

Agreed totally. Even if it's a mudbath Tuesday night, I'd take that if it meant not getting wet once over the next five days.

It wont be a mudbath until it gets churned up. A lot of rain before the festival, then dry are probably the best conditions.  Easy to get the tent pegs in etc.

I agree- it makes things easier to set up camp and it let's you see the site looking at its best with green grass and sunshine.

2010 was a revelation. Until then I didn't think the sun and heat would prove so limiting at Glastonbury. However still better than 1997, 1998, 2005 & 2007.

Forecast looks OK at the moment provided they don't churn it all up in preparation for the festival.

The ground must be bone dry at the minute . Hopefully  It'll soak any rain up like a sponge when it inevitably arrives

The ground is rock hard on the farm, if no rain come you will need rock pegs and a big hammer to get them in.

I wasn't there but reading the reports id go for another 2010 in a heartbeat....you just have to be sensible, drink plenty of water, use suncream, wear a hat and take a break get under cover every now and then(and there is plenty of shade at glastonbury) Saying that though im a ginger pale skin daywalker so im used to protecting myself from that evil bright light in the sky....it burrrrnnnnsss us preccccious it burrrnnnsss us! hisssssssssss!

Weather was ideal my first year though 2013. a bit of rain overnight I think thursday but it soon dried up and rest of the festival was fine....2014 and last year a little bit wetter then id have liked.......heres to another scorcher in 2016!

2010. I remember folk queuing for a place in the shade of a hedge.  It was like a busy bar when someone left the space there was a rush to take their place.   I wore sandals and a long t-shirt all weekend.  Loved it, unfortunately what I thought was a tan washed off the first shower I got home.

    • Reading all the feedback with interest.  If there are now 75,000 tickets officially sold, plus who knows how many more people blagging in - then on the Friday evening and Saturday in particular, it's not ridiculous to suggest there's 50,000 people at Mordor, which is a stadium gig - except with much worse sight lines, an inferior PA, and far less bars and toilets. The Thursday evening in 2022 was of course infamous but on the Friday night for Beck I was trapped about 150m from the stage, surrounded by chatters, and with no prospect of getting nearer the stage.  With hindsight that was when I realised the fest had one way or another fundamentally changed.  Also noting on Reddit that some folk didn't enjoy the Cure or Gorillaz because the sets were "too long".  In future bands may be better received if they actually just play their top 10 Spotify songs then get back off the stage.
    • Has Glastonbury already got council permission for that 5 year run?
    • This keeps being mentionned but it only happened because Dua's Europe Tour was rescheduled due to Covid. Dua's arena show was initially planned for October 2021 but got rescheduled to May 2022 a month after the PS2022 lineup was announced.   I hope Massive Attack and Doja get to come back. I guess it'll depend whether they have a summer tour planned next year.
    • Solo album on the way for the singer of a certain band.  Il leave the name of the act out and see if anyone listening can guess....  its er rather obvious lol
