I may be in a minority here, but I bloody hope they change the colour. It's a bit of an eyesore in an otherwise gorgeous valley if they keep it like that.

Seeing the boom on there as well, I was just thinking how much I did like the industrial nature of the raw, original colour, Kali!

I'm sure there's lots of 'structure' to be added to it over the next three weeks (three weeks!!!), and with all the pyro equipment and the speaker systems etc, it won't look so conspicuous, but I like it!

Yes.

Its like looking at a stage frame like Park or Other and seeing just the stage frame. Add lights, projectors, lasers, fire, boomy stuff, lightning, dancers, acrobats and some fucking loud music and you won’t see the crane as a frame i’m sure.

I have just been for a run along the ridge above the village and the view of the site is dominated by Pangea, colour makes it stick out like a racing dogs danglies.

You need to pull your finger out and get working on a crane hat, dude.

im going to assess it this year and see how possible it will be for the 50th .... at least I will have something to base it on ..... at the moment one of the booms would give me issues with neck tilt :)

If the crane is a permanent structure to stay on the farm surly they must have got planning permission?  could this stipulate the colour?

I hope it isn't permanent. That would be fairly disgraceful and out of place in that area.

i tend to agree but the impression given on the 6 music interview suggests it might be

I would imagine it's definitely permanent. They had to build foundations to put it in there. It would cost an absolute fortune to move and they'd have to pay another fortune to store it somewhere all year round.

I'm sure the locals got a chance to have their say. (write us another cheque there michael)

It'll be taken down.

To leave it there permanently would require planning permission and there isn't an application for it.

The footings will stay in place but I imaging the crane will be dismantled and stored on the ground.

    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
