  1. I just counted this morning's posts as they didn't affect the top three anyway. 5. Chvrches - Screen Violence (18 points) Apple Music Spotify Three points ahead of Big Red Machine, a somewhat return to form from Chvrches gets them fifth place. 4. Jungle - Loving In Stereo (18 points) Apple Music Spotify A late post from @Quarksees Jungle shoot up to fourth. They ended up level on points with Chvrches but Jungle got more 1st place votes than Chvrches did, so gave them fourth based on that. 3. Turnstile - Glow On (26 points) Apple Music Spotify I was surprised to see this so high up but a resounding third place for Turnstile. 2. Halsey - If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power (27 points) Apple Music Spotify Halsey narrowly beats Turnstile into second place. I'm not sure she'd normally place this high but this is a very good album, turns out getting Trent and Atticus in is what you need to do well in the eFests album of the month tournaments, which I'm sure is what everyone is aiming for. 1. The Killers - Pressure Machine (32 points) Apple Music Spotify A predictable but well deserved winner. Brandon and the lads continue their recent return to form with their most stripped back album yet. --------- That leaves the albums of the month so far as below: The Killers - Pressure Machine Halsey - If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power Turnstile - Glow On Inhaler - It Won't Always Be Like This Dave - We're All Alone In This Together Snapped Ankles - Forest of Your Problems Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend Sault - 9 Lucy Dacus - Home Video Iceage - Seek Shelter Squid - Bright Green Field St. Vincent - Daddy's Home Royal Blood - Typhoons Dry Cleaning - New Long Leg The Coral - Coral Island Arab Strap - As Days Get Dark Bicep - Isles Black Country, New Road - For the First Time Nick Cave and Warren Ellis - Carnage Lana Del Rey - Chemtrails Over the Country Club For Those I Love - For Those I Love Mogwai - As the Love Continues Arlo Parks - Collapsed in Sunbeams Shame - Drunk Tank Pink

  8. First day back at work today & it was good to catch up with people I’ve not seen for six weeks. The school is expecting to see a spike in Covid cases when the kids return to school staggered from Monday through Wednesday. Excited to be back but not looking forward to teaching year 7s who haven’t been in a school for almost 2 years & aren’t used to secondary school. Oh & my pet Rosie moulted last night so I’m happy! Before & after pics.

  10. As @BlueDazesaid I'm sure she already knew in fact I'd bet she has been hiding it from all of you for longer than you can imagine. It will probably be a relief in the long run to have it out there although from friends experience of this it may be a conversation that is lost as well. It's a really tough disease but if it's any consolation to you it will be tougher on you most of the time than on her.

  12. No easy answer to that one @Yoghurt on a Stick.... all you can do is be what it already sounds like you are, a caring son that is there for his Mum.. Im not sure sure that the D word needs either hiding from or fronting up.. She likely knows. My Mum came down from Scotland to tour around the family because she realised what was happening and she wanted to see everyone on her terms... It was an emotional time, that makes me emotional now.. (decades later) We are all Big Girls Blouses at heart.. Take care.

  13. Its an absolutely cracking festival...small site, incredible crowd, great beer choice (but you can take your own drink in the arena)...you won't regret it

  14. Don't take him up on it Calgon. Not unless you want to spend the entire evening having Dancing Queen picked apart in minute detail and being forced to concede that it's the greatest song of all time.

  16. Well this voyage residence goes all the way to September. I would love a proper ABBA tour, zero chance though. Takes me back being on the 1st Gorillaz tour and they played behind a white screen.

  17. I think the whole reason for them creating the holograms is so they don't have to go on tour. They are all in their 70s, are already VERY wealthy and haven't toured in forty years. There's no chance they'll tour in person.

  19. Think they were down for Equinox. And the phone call was followed up by a none too happy Foos management wondering why their frontman was ringing a farmer to book in when he can play the farm!

  21. I've just spent the last few days away from my home looking after my mom. I got back about 30 minutes ago and have discovered that owing to a Memory Clinic appointment just coming through, that my eldest brother has had to mention the 'D' word (Dementia) to my mom, only about 10 minutes after I had left her in his care. I understand that he had to do what he did, but would have preferred it if 'we' (all her 5 sons) had been present at the time. Nothing I can do now though. The 'D' word hasn't been spoken of before to her. I had wanted it to happen as I think she should have known straight away. I was 'kind of' overruled on that one 4 against 1. So, kind of a bit weepy at this end - like the big girls blouse that I am.

  23. The real reason I brought up though was because people sometimes (including myself) refer to acts like Stormzy as grime artists, when they don’t really make Grime anymore. Wiley and Aitch got in an argument the other day because Aitch claims Grime is a bit of a dead genre again as most UK rap is now drill.

  27. Not sure about BST, but back when Hard Rock Calling used Hyde Park, they used to rub the same weekend as Glastonbury and sometimes shared headliners.

  28. Nah, there have been a few in the past. Pretty sure Springsteen played HP the same weekend as Glasto. Glasto and BST often share a headliner or two...

  29. I have already written off any chance of getting tickets for 22. I also think that 23 is going to be absolute carnage with all of the pent up demand. We will probably try but I think that I will have back-up plans ready. Either way it will be different for us (knowing that it will be ages before we have a chance to get tickets has caused big chunks of our group to loose interest). Anyway getting back on topic. I think good rumours and self-confirmations will start in Nov ahead of Elton being confirmed in Dec and Billie in Feb.

  31. As I said above, he You've been a worthy adversary Matthew. I am genuinely and sincerely looking forward to buying you a pint at the meet next year. Looking at his dates for that week he's doing one night on, one off, following that logic he should be playing somewhere on the Sunday night. It looks a mortgage job to me: Elton John is headlining Sunday night at Glastonbury*** *** Just watch the fucker announce a show at Cheltenham Town FC now.

  36. I went all out and bought myself a front row seat for the RAH gig. Really pleased I did now. After an absolute shitter of a month and a shitter of a year I'm really looking forward to going to this alone and just letting it wash over me. I imagine I'll be in bits.

  37. Little pic from last night. Won’t add anything that might be a spoiler for those lucky souls still to see it. Suspect the later in the tour you see it might be better as they are still rusty unsurprisingly and still working out the new stuff. As ever though, always a wonderful night with Nick
