In your mind.  Clearly not in Emily/Michael Eavis mind this year.

Make sure you tell them what a horrific mistake they’ve made when you see them

i probably will.

Why do you care?

Another day. Another post by the forum owner calling out members of the forum for liking a band he doesn't. Sad really.

you can like whatever you like , you can also have some quality control.

No, people can like whatever they like as long as you approve of it.

his list its all the possibles,  that are better than gnr.

Fact of the matter is, you've already said you're ticket is going back in the pot and you won't be attending anymore. So given that, it makes zero sense for you to still continue to slate it that much.

A festival I have no interest in attending at a current point loses my interest to be involved and thus preserves my energy for something I don't see as pointless.

I genuinely think your health issues might have affected you in a mentally unstable way and it might be time to just ask for help with it.

I'd hoped Orbital would pop up in '19 on the back of Monsters Exist. Maybe this time.

I've a funny feeling they will be there. But if case they are not, I'm off to see them on their tour in April. Should be a good gig!

I think i'll leave this thread alone until another headliner is officially announced.

Oh god. This just made me realise that even if the bitching does die down, it will only flare up again when the official announcement comes.

Think I'm just going to stop looking in this thread because it's bloody miserable in here.

there's lots of better bookings than gnr. is that straight enough for you?

So are you predicting an empty Pyramid field?  If there so shit and no one likes them, we'll be able to measure this by the crowd size and tell you if you were right all along.

Instead of day 6 of old-man-yells-at-cloud can we have your prioritised list of who should have been booked instead?

This is at least week 6 now.

Suit yourself.  The thread is 'Headliner 2023', as far as we know we have our headliners - you're probably safe to sit this one out / it'll be obvious without the aid of this thread if or when gnr / elton pull out and the thread reverts to who the headliners could be as opposed to talking about who we assume it is.

Hows that gonna happen when theyve scrapped everything for this year including opening the MSG Sphere in Vegas because Larry is having back surgery? You want Bono to do his book tour thing?

Poster blitz coming in afternoon.

When does the Sphere officially open? It looks incredible

This U2 discussion has weirdly coincided with a mate randomly texting me out of the blue yesterday "U2 are playing Glastonbury"

No idea where he's gotten that info from, he's not usually the type to even be interested in rumours, but he's adamant to the point where he wants to put money on

I've told him surely they're headliners or nothing, and as far as we're aware, the headliners are locked in at AM GnR Elton

So having read Bono's book they aren't quite as egotistical as you'd think, actually quite insecure about their music, legacy etc and what things "mean". If they feel they didn't do so well at Glastonbury, they might want another shot to put it right? I wonder if the Legend's Slot could be on for them one day considering the coverage it gets. I'd be surprised this year due to the drummer's surgery, but I wouldn't rule it out one day. Or of course just returning to headline at some point, maybe when they announce their final tour

It seems odd Larry Mullen doesn't know what the band's plans for 2023 are, but seems possible they may do something without him:

''He explained that he has injured his ‘elbows, knees [and] neck,’ and requires surgery, and that if the band go on tour next year, it won’t be with him.

The 61-year-old explained: ‘I really miss the audiences. I miss that interaction even though I’m sitting behind a drum kit … My body is not what it used to be physically. Like next year, I won’t be performing live next year. I don’t know what the band’s plan is. There’s talk of all kinds of things.''

    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
    • Not my favourite year either, despite liking the lineup more than previous years. Not sure what it was, I guess Thursday really put the brakes on things. But yeah I'll be back next year hopefully. And maybe Massive Attack will return...
