Is there a current C, TBC, SR etc. list somewhere on the forum? Would it be possible to have a topic that is just the list, with no comments, so it's easy to find and return to? (I apologise if all this has been thought about/covered before)

There isn't one but give me a minute.

Questions on self confirms:

I mean, it's good from attendees points of view but does it piss of the festival at all? Presumably the lower down the bill you are the more leeway?

What actually accounts for a self confirm such as the above? Booking agencies jumping the gun and not knowing the unwritten rules etc?

It's an interesting question. Someone must have approved the poster, did they think the lineup would already have been out by now? Is it someone who has no clue they shouldn't be doing it or is someone doing it on purpose knowing they'll get a bit of publicity out of it?

Maybe they just want the additional sweet, sweet Spotify cash from @Brave Sir Robinadding them to his playlist ahead of the pack.

In this case with Courtney Barnett, as she's been announced for all those other festivals on there for a while (I think), I imagine its just they were always going to include all her festival shows and just didn't think to take Glastonbury off. Probably happens fairly often - wasn't that how we found out about Aerosmith?

Surely higher up is when you have more leeway as you have much more weight -  festivals need the headliners so if they self confirm they won't get pissy vs some random act lower down who could potentially be punished.

I think as long as you arent revealing stuff about other bands ( like 'we are supporting Radiohead doing a secret set on the other stage, cant wait') or new stages e.t.c, they dont really care if a band are saying they are playing the festival. Most bands chose not to,  so they preserve their own tours, their other festival slots e.t.c

I imagine the constant drip-feed of non-exclusive artists is a good thing for Glastonbury and they won't be too annoyed at it - keeps the hype at a nice level for a few months and probably staves off the "LINEUP WHEN?" brigade a little bit.

Interesting that he knows Noel is playing. Do you think their managers are in contact to make sure they don't play in the same city or festival at the same time?

His mum might have told him... only being semi serious with that
