Deftones (with support from Gojira) playing the 3 Arena in Dublin on 6th June next year. God I hope this turns in to a full tour with that same support - would be all over a Manchester date.

I assume its timed arond their Download festival being an exclusive

Glad we're getting this sort of thing. Less thrilled about the acts haha.

like Idles but am seeing them with Pearl Jam. Foals I should like, but just can never get into. DMA's do absolutely nothing for me.

I've actually found I like DMAs far more than I thought I did or would. They've grown on me.  And I do like the Lathums.

Do you have a ‘see once only’ policy on acts you like? I should have done that, would’ve saved myself a fortune over the years.

Haha God no. In fact it's embarrassing how often I see the same acts really, and some I've seen multiple times on the same tour. I just don't like Idles that much so money would be better spent on someone else.

I think they’re supporting Pearl Jam less than 48 hours later, to be fair.

This is a big factor as well.

Am happy to help with the O2 Presale if you need it. I'd like to go myself but it clashes with Bluedot =/

Thanks for the offer bud, but I’m on O2 as well so all good.

Just worked out I go on holiday the day after this so it’ll be a nice start to a few weeks off.

Plastic Mermaids socially distanced gig at Teesside University on 28th November 2020!

An Audience With...Plastic Mermaids

The Hub, Teesside University, Middlesbrough. Saturday, 28 Nov 2020

https://www.seetickets.com/event/an-audience-with-plastic-mermaids/the-hub-teesside-university/1668459

Tickets sold by tables.

Really conflicted about going - would love to but still not 100% convinced of an indoor gig like this.

Footage from last nights gig. You could be in for a treat

That's fucking brilliant!

I've now missed out on getting tickets for three socially distanced gigs, I tried to get tixs for The Skints, Millie Manders and Riske & The Ridicule with no luck. It's because they are on at small venues working on smaller capacity the tixs go instantly.

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
