As someone still firmly clutching their Gaga straws, today is a key day. The residency starts tonight and during the summer there have been whispers that she'd drop her 6th album to coincide with the start of this residency.

If an album is announced then I'll be shoving my metaphorical chips on a 'European tour and Glasto appearance in June-July-August' bet, probably to be announced in Jan/Feb 2019 once the early (and almost certainly) positive reviews from the residency come in.

No album and then i think the slim hopes become slimmer. At best I think it's a one off Glasto appearance as she 'beings her Enigma Vegas show to the Pyramid Stage'.

Im. Really hoping its Gaga on Sat night now, McCartney on Sunday then I can go see Wu Tang on Sat and not miss Macca. That would do me.

I don't think it's beyond reach to think Metallica would have played the Other. They're huge, but Glastonbury is clearly not their target audience so they would probably have seen it as something a bit different and a chance to reach a different audience. Makes sense from their POV.

I'll believe The Cure playing that slot when I see it though.

I'm not sure Metallica would have reached much of a different audience if the had played against Prince.

Whilst personally I wouldn't entertain the idea of watching Prince instead of Metallica, the vast majoity of neutrals would choose a world famous star with songs they recognise, making a rare appearance over checking out a metal band for the first time.

I don’t know what you are all smoking about Gaga. The enigma performance looked like a cringe fest.

I prefer her when she strips back (most of) the theatricality. All these alien suits and stuff just feels so 2008 / 2000 late

A critique of Lady Gaga's Vegas show using the lyrics of the Black Eyed Peas?

2018 wasn't so bad after all!

Noticed Gaga added a few more dates to her residency in the last fortnight, including a new June 2019 date....fortunately it's only June 15th

I think it's already been established there's no Elton next year but if not, Emily has confirmed it on Instagram.

A little disappointed by this, I had really hoped for an Elton Sunday next year. I think I'd absolutely love a set by him, but I can't ever see myself attending an Elton gig. Sounds like she's already got that slot booked, though - exciting!

    • My party again had an outstanding 4 days in Barca. We made the right call to leave the festival site early at about 10.30 on Thursday to get ourselves some excellent steaks in the city. I am with everyone that the organization should have been clearer about what is going on and also if you would like to get rid of some attendees open more exits, they sent us from gate to gate until we finally were able to get out. Biggest 'disappointment' was the beer price, a YoY increase from 5 to 6 is absolutely nuts!!! (i am living in Switzerland so me making this comment says something 🙂)   Top 10:   1. Men I Trust 2. Role Model (could have been first as well, what a great artist and great songs) 3. The XX 4. The cure (the last 90 minutes) 5. Gorillaz 6. MBV 7. Ninajirachi (another big miss of the organization, clearly on the wrong podium and wonder if Olivia's surprise set had something to do with that and they had to reschuffle late the Occident, Cupra and Port schedules) 8. NewDad 9. Big Thief 10. Annastashia      We did 3 years Barca now and for next year looking at the Porto or Bilbao festivals as an option.
    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!    I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.    Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
    • No complaints about the sound. We were like 2nd set of steps facing stage right in like the middle row.
    • On the whole then, yay or nay...I've had a look on festivals united and there's people who seem converted by Rock Im Park, I can imagine it might be different if it was a washout as RaR is tarmac.   The hotel side would be more to convince the non campers if it's an option. On my first visit to rock am ring we were shuttled into the area where you could stick the car next to the tent which was fantastic as it meant zero lugging of camping gear.
